Elofson negligently prescribed psychatric medication to my 19 year old daughter. He did not properly evaluate her and started 2 brain alterting medications without properly managing her. I made an emergency appt to visit him after her initial behavior/response to medication was so erratic/changed- I begged the medication be discontinued and for him to be refer her to a psychatrist to be properly evaluated and managed. My daughter met with him a second time where he UPPED her dosage of medication prior to referring her to a psychatrist- despite our meeting. Her life is now forever changed due to his negligence and lack of accountability/supervision. I have filed with Louisiana State Medical board and I will fight to hold him accountable for his negligence.

Feel like he really cared about me, spent time necessary to answer all my questions. Diagnosed one of my children after other MDs could not find the cause of her problems. Will always be grateful.

My favorite thing about Dr. Elofson is that he is able to tell you what to watch for in the upcoming growth/personality/behavioral stages and how best to handle any behaviors that you do not wish your child to continue. He makes me a better parent.

Dr. Elofson has been my 6 month old's doc since birth. He is an excellent doctor, very thorough and always patiently answers my "new mom" questions.
