Dr. Rodney Derrick Leavitt, MD

I have an uncommon eye situation that takes special care. Dr Leavitt has the expert ability to handle it. He is a very caring doctor.

Dr. Leavitt is a very nice and polite man I noticed right away. His calmness while doing thorough exams of my eyes keeps me calm. I have never felt like he has rushed through my visit. This is very important to me as it has happened to me with other doctors. He always answers every question or concern promptly and thoroughly. I initially went to see him because I was a prior patient of his father, Russell Leavitt, MD, before I moved from Grants Pass. His father had retired by the time I moved back 17 years later, so I thought I'd try one appointment. I'm very happy I saw him that first time because now I've been his patient for almost 10 years. I have Sjogren's Syndrome and detailed check-ups are crucial. He recently performed cataract surgery on me at his clinic's own Surgery Center and everything could not have gone any better! I had corrective lenses inserted and for the first time in my life I can see across the bedroom when I first wake up! The nurses that work with him… are the best I've ever had. I had one eye done and the other done a month later. Both times I would not have even known my IV had been inserted had I not looked at it! (I've had other surgeries elsewhere and IVs before and the painful IV was all I remember now.) So I am thrilled by Cascade's care of me! His entire Staff is polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional whenever I call or go in for a visit. I have seen a couple of the other doctors that are in the practice on an emergency basis when Dr. Leavitt hasn't been there and was very happy with them also. In my experience, I highly recommend Cascade Eyecare Center, and Cascade Surgery Center!
