Dr. Rodrigo Ariel Pizarro, MD

It has been many years since my visit. My ex husband was convicted by the state for assaulting me. I was not involved in the case; this was a criminal conviction. Despite this, because of my training and recognition of Rodrigo’s extreme bias, it was required of me to not even address my ex husband’s extreme abusiveness and controlling acts, repetitive violations of his multi year restraining order, constant harassment and continuing control as I knew any report would be turned on me as a hysterical victim…which, at times was. When I learned forensic evaluations in custody cases were being examined by the courts I was slightly relieved…

Reviews here and elsewhere online have strikingly similar themes over many years: women/wives are 1) responsible for abuse by their husbands 2) diagnosed with some new psychiatric disorder (borderline personality) 3) unattractive in the same ways - ‘rigid’, ‘paranoid’. The doctor seems 1) to misrepresent what he was told 2) to be highly motivated by money above all. And women’s own lawyers seem not to know about the doctor’s reputation To help protect others, there might be value to being in touch? Harder to be ignored or denounced as crazy in a group than alone...

It has been 8 years since this man began to wreak his vengeance upon me for my sins of being a woman, for marrying an abusive man, for having an awful attorney (which I then repaired). My only saving grace was my second and smarter attorney caught this “doctor” in numerous lies on the stand. He can’t keep his victims, ahem, patients straight! An angry and awful man who should have his license revoked. Now that he’s in my rearview mirror I just might take that project on.

I agree with the previous poster. If you are a female with a wealthy husband and you are divorcing your abuser, don’t let your lawyers accept this guy. If they propose him, fire your lawyers because they aren’t working in your best interest. Also, tape all sessions. He makes up diagnoses. Suddenly, although I have no previous psychiatric history, Pizarro gave me a diagnosis of psychosis. This came about in the middle of a very long divorce from my attorney ex husband who had been convicted of domestic violence. I mentioned to my ex my iPhone was hacked (he likely hacked it). My ex filed a motion to take my children, saying I was crazy, Pizarro agrees, even though a forensic evaluation on my iPhone AND computer showed both were hacked. Stay away from this creep. He should lose his license. The real victims are the kids.

This man is known in the circle of divorce "professionals" as the forensic you hire if you are an abusive man and want a favorable report. If you are a woman or a victim of DV or both, and your lawyer recommends this man, fire your lawyers! He is an unethical businessman, failed private psychiatrist, with an unscrupulous relationship with a set of similar divorce lawyers who represent abusive husbands. Many people in divorce circles - lawyers and other forensic psychologists - recognize this and say he must be 'stopped' but nothing is being done. He is widely believed to have been divorced by his first wife and lost custody of his children and he is now getting his revenge on women and wives. Even if the story is not true, the fact divorce workers believe it as a rationale for his extremely biassed behavior tells you something....Also he likes to issue multiple interim reports, go years past the deadline he committed to the court, and charge amounts that shock even divorce lawyers… - often $200,000 - for his reports. He lies blatantly so beware of meeting with him without some taping device or other way to verify what you say. If you try to make him meet any deadline, he will definitely say you have some kind of severe psychological disorder. He reportedly has about 20 cases at any time, charging about $200,000 each, so he earns $4million a year for protecting rich, abusive husbands.

I brought these reviews to my attorney and expressed concern but was reassured. I should have listened to the reviews. I was divorcing a controlling and abusive husband who wanted to do whatever he could to emotionally, financially and spiritually destroy me. I assumed that as long as I did not point fingers or act the the victim (at the suggestion of previous reviews), this doctor would be able to see the obvious pathology of my ex. In part because my ex had been convicted in court (he plead an assault charge down). It was beyond what I would ever have imagined and the doctor was extensively manipulated by my ex. I would never have imagined my case proceeding in the way it did, and due to what I consider malpractice on the part of this physician, was put in a position which led to the signing of a settlement in which my children's best interests are not being served.

Yr bottom o barrel.Take a Bonehead ESL course at th'local Community College, bytch(sic) before you judge me. And take a breathalyzer.Real problem here: but his job is secure w/the corrupt NYC divorce racket. Seriously, how did you get hooked up?? FAIL.

Dr. Pizarro abuses his position for self gain and is highly biased against women, especially women who dare take a stand to an abusive husband. I read the reviews and discussed them with my lawyer, but they denied any knowledge of this. In the end, despite my husband's documented violence (with arrest and conviction), and overwhelming controlling behavior during the divorce, Dr. Pizarro completely manipulated his report. This led to a settlement causing my children to spend time with a nanny while my ex works while my flexible career allows me to be at home. More importantly, they will be in the home with a violent and abusive man without supervision.

DISHONEST AND UNPROFESSIONAL PERSON

This is a very corrupt person. As a forensic psychiatrist assigned to our custody case, he covered up my ex's egregious lies and sided adamantly in favor for one parent. He did this knowing that my only option was to take the case to trial where Pizarro could make more money. When my lawyer confronted him about about the lies while he was on the stand,, he just shrugged his shoulders. This is a very corrupt person. Stay away from him at all costs. He will destroy your life to make an extra buck. His assessments also made no professional sense. He loves the are ruin of being on the witness stand. He loves screwing families over to make as much money as possible. He should lose his license.
