Dr. Roger William Altman, MD

The final disappointment with Dr. Altman’s office is that I am unable to give it a zero star rating. It is difficult to recommend his acumen as a surgeon, as I only saw him for a brief ten minutes, during which time he was unable to diagnose a simple contact dermatitis leg rash. He did, however, prescribe a prescription strength cortisone cream which, after almost a week has yet to be called into my pharmacy in spite of many calls to the office and two messages left on the prescription refill line. If one has the patience to wade through myriad options just to get a human voice and then be cut off while an attempt is made to locate one’s file, then this is the ideal office to visit.

First facial MOHS done at this office. No sutures. No instructions. Ugly nasty scar. Second MOHS done by a different dermatologist. Sutures. Specific instructions. Get recommended to minimize scar. Oh so glad I decided to have procedure done elsewhere.

Second Mohs done by a different dermatologist. So far looks like there will be minimal scaring, if at all, as compared to the procedure done at this office. This time I knew the questions to ask and was given very specific written instructions. A gel was recommended to apply after dissolving sutures are gone. Change can be good, as is the case here.

Had a MOHS procedure recently. No one in the office called as a follow up to find out how I'm doing. Not so with other doctor offices. Would be good common courtesy.

Basal cell by eye brow. Mohs performed. Rather large area cut. Only instruction was to leave bandage on for two days. Have been applying neosporin and keeping the (super ugly) area covered when away from the house. Tried to leave area uncovered four days later. Severe burning sensation. Supposedly have another basal cell on my forehead just above the nose. Will get a second opinion before I let Dr. Altman take yet another chunk out of me.

Dr. ALTMAN is a kind, caring, compassionate Dr who is very knowledgeable

Dear Dr. Altman, I cannot thank you enough for the excellent care you have given me over the past several weeks. ( several biopsies and two MOHS surgeries ) and more to come. I have been treated by several dermatologists in the past, some good, some not so good. You are, by far, the most competent, kindest ever. Also a thank you to your wonderful staff, especially Dana. I wish to thank the staff for making my experience more tolerable than I thought it would be. Their expertise reassured me. Though Dr. Altman, I'm sure, had other patients at that time who were in a more serious situation than my contition, he gave me his full attention, reassurance and care as though I was his only patient. All of our family members are currently treated by Dr. Altman (three generations). He is so experienced and gifted, in addition to being so kind. He's the best!!!
