Dr. Roger Guy Bangs, MD

Dr. Bamgs has performed four surgeries on me over the past 6 years. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 5.5 years ago and he did my mastectomy. My cancer returned in November, 2016 and he did the second surgery too. He also inserted the port where my chemotherapy drugs enter my blood stream. I love this man to death. He listens to me, is patient with me and explains things very thoroughly. When you talk with him, you just know he is deeply concerned about his patients and their lives. My first referral to him was the luck of the draw - but I am so gratfeful his is there for me.

I was referred to Dr Bangs for a mole removal. He was extremely understanding and compassionate. I would refer him to anyone, and I would definately go back to him.

Dr. Bangs had to do an emergency surgery on my colon. I had severe complications due to diverticulitis. My colon had perforated. He opened me up and took care of everything. He was in my room everyday for about a month. I can not praise this doctor enough. I am so thankful he was my doctor. I don't know if I would be here if he wasn't my surgeon. Not a day goes by that I am not thankful for his skill.

Had a hernia most of my life that was not bothering me but decided to talk to him about it. He did NOT push me to fix it, he laid out my options and told me what he felt would be the long term impact of each decision. I never felt like he was in a hurry to rush me into surgery. I chose to get my hernia repaired and he did excellent work. I have been without symptoms since he fixed my hernia and have felt relief at having it done.

I am very happy with everything. I am a week and a half out of surgery and I am doing so well. Dr Bangs is very professional and very experienced. I have a 2 inch incision above my groin and he was able to put the mesh behind the hernia breech, which is the best way to have it done. He is very nice and a very good surgeon. I would not have changed anything if I had to do it again.

He was told in the O.R. Idid not have a hernia and not to do the surgery. He did not listen and has messed me up for the rest of my life. I have been to 3 specialist and they all said the same thing "should not have ever had the surgery and he did the procedure wrong and then I was told he has taken 20 to 15 years off of my life.

Is the BEST and most Professional, Caring, physician I have ever had to deal with. I have had to work with many in different states and be under care in different sates and Dr Bangs by far tops the charts. Even now that I have returned to my home state of upstate NY he still keeps track.
