Dr. Roger Huan Chen, MD

To me, Dr. Chen is the quintessential family physician, of all the other Family/Internal Physicians that I have ever been friends with, and absolutely, he is my family's exclusive and only physician, and I used to have him, too, from the very beginning, as well, and I was the 1st (in my family) ever to know his staff. Before I had a young Dr. Kusiak (who was soon-to-be his favorite partner-in-medicine and later friend, who also has a lot in common, with him) as a current, primary care physician, as well as anybody, under his care, esp. that was/is associated with Chen, and now, Dr. Dyksterhouse, I actually had Dr. Chen 1st. He was in fact, the 2nd physician, to always make sure I feel safe with him, as well as to always make sure that I always eat more plant-based food, exercise more, doing additional chores, more, and esp. learning how to 'remain calm,' in tough times. For more than a quarter of a century, Dr. Chen has been the more calm, quiet, low-key and amazing doctor and the… kind of friend that he would ever listen. He is still the "most-used" and "top" physician, of all the others that I've listed!

Dr. Chen has been my and my husband's primary doctor for almost as long as he has been in practice. He is patient, kind nonjudgmental, wise and never seems in a hurry. He is thorough and pays attention to detail as well as the whole.

Dr Chen is professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and genuine. He takes the time to explain his diagnos(es) and will exhaust all avenues to get it accurate. Wonderful physician. However, I am disappointed to say the main nurse and office manager is terribly rude, unprofessional, and actually downright mean and even abusive! Very angry person who apparently takes it out on everyone around her, including the patients. Highly inappropriate comments were made to me by this person and I was utterly shocked and embarrassed. After the comments she made I was actually very uncomfortable with this person having access to my medical records and with her being a liaison with my insurance. For this reason, I'm not sure if I will remain a patient of Dr Chen's and definitely would not recommend anyone. Very unfortunate. :-(

He is good at communicating. Great with children, he has a very gentle manner. My daughter doesn't do well with male doctors or dentists but Dr. Chen is the only doctor she will see. We've talked about switching because we live so far away, but just can't bring ourselves to do it. He answers all your questions with answers you can understand. He is caring and patient.
