Dr. Roger James Hudgins

Should have 6 stars. He saved our son's life.

Horrific physican and experience. Dr Hudgins falsely accused my husband and I of child abuse and subsequently performed an unnecessary brain surgery on our infant son which has resulted in auditory processing disorder. Never allow your children to be treated by Hudgins nor his “PA” Lynn.

My son in 2012 was seen by Dr. Hudgins at Akron Children's for a shunt revision. Dr. Hudgins left hair inside the cranial cavity. Did not attach the shunt tubing to the catheter. Left scar tissue inside the brain at the catheter placement area. Had to take my son out of state and ended up with MRSA inside his cranial area. Would have lost him, if not for Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles CA. My son ended up staying in the hospital for 1 month in ICU and multiple revisions (surgeries during the 1 month stay at a result of Dr. Hudgins incompetence. Avoid seeing this doctor like the plague.

I cannot even begin to say how happy I am with this doctor and his staff. My 2 year old was diagnosed on 1-16-13 with a chiari 1.5 malformation. Our family was scared out of our minds. Dr. Hudgins did a decompression surgery on her and she will be going home just 2 days later. We felt so much ease and the time spent to answer all my crazy questions was amazing. I trust him to do any and all treatments related to my daughters condition. A great big thank you to Dr. Hudgins and his team to a job well done:)

I can not say enough about Dr. Hudgins. He has a wonderful way with both children and parents. He preformed the surgery with out any complications and was able to do it without cutting my daughters hair, which was very important to an 11 year old that finally got it to grow back from a previous surgery. He was also able to fix an old scar that had not healed properly during her surgery. I am thankful he is at Akron Children's Hospital. If he moves back to Georgia, I would be willing to travel for any additional surgeries that are in my daughters future.

My 20 month old son had a Juvenile Pilocytic Astrocytoma the size of an orange that caused hydrocephalis. The situation was emergent and terrifying. Dr. Hudgins was kind and confident and reasurring. He spent as much time with my wife and I as we needed, answering question after questions. He even gave me his cell phone number in case I needed him. His bedside manner was amazing. He has performed two surgeries on my son. The surgeries were successfull, the tumor was removed and was benign! Thank you Dr. Hudgins!

Dr. Hudgins operated on my son fifteen years ago to relieve him of seizures. He has been seizure free since that time. Dr. Hudgins contributed to my son living a normal life. He was and is excellent!
