Dr. Rogerio Neves is a Senior Member in the Department of Cutaneous Oncology. Dr. Neves received an MD from Faculdade de Medicina do ABC in Brazil and a PhD from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He completed residency training in General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Hospital Das Clínicas, University of Sao Paulo School of Medicine. He completed Research Fellowships at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and then Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Neves joins us from Penn State University where he was a Professor of Surgery, Pharmacology and Medicine, and Director of the Cutaneous Oncology Program at the Penn State Cancer Institute. Dr. Neves is interested in developing novel treatments for people diagnosed with skin cancers. His foci are the treatment of melanoma, Merkel cell, basal and squamous cell carcinomas, rare skin cancers as well as oncologic reconstruction. His research …interests include the translation of physiological and molecular mechanisms of tumor resistance, particularly in melanoma, as well as drug development for clinical trials in melanoma and advanced basal and squamous cell carcinomas.

A few years back I had a questionable cell growth on my face removed by the dermatology department at the Penn State Health Hospital in Hershey, Pa. I was VERY unhappy with the mark that that physician left on my right facial cheek. I made an appointment with Dr. Neves and he also, was not pleased with the scar that resulted from the procedure. I was scheduled for an out patient appointment with Dr. Neves and he surgically corrected the previous doctors botched job. I since then had another questionable spot on my face removed by Dr. Neves. You can barley tell where these procedures were performed! His technique, bedside manner, personality, skill are all phenomenal! I was self conscious going out with the result of the first procedure by the dermatology department. Thanks to Dr. Neves my incisions healed almost perfectly and are barely noticeable. Thank you.

Love this Dr. Bedside manners are phenomenal, he saved my life.. from a stage three cancer 4 1/2 years ago, I cannot praise him enough
