Dr. Roland H C Brilla, MD

Dr. Brilla entered the room and decided that my confirmed previous neurologic diagnosis (made by his colleague and confirmed by MRI) that is NOT in question was WRONG. He proceeded to fumble through the wrong MRI and tell me he did not see the lesion. I am a Dr. and I have seen the lesion. It's really there. The fumbling and bashing of the other neurologist went on for a while. Then he questioned a test she ran because that disease doesn't cause that brain lesion. Yes, it does. Maybe you need to read a medical journal from the last 20 years. He confused some words at a point and wasn't making sense and I began to wonder if he was drunk or maybe on drugs. I am having numbess and burning of a 6 month duration. That area was less sensitive on the neuro exam. I told him when asked and he told me I was just biased and said everything was normal. So, I guess he cured me or I am just faking it. He could assure me I did NOT have the condition my PCP sent me for him to evaluate because I… wasn't showing late stage symptoms of the disease. I guess he shook his magic diagnostic 8 ball before he walked into the room. He really implied that I shouldn't even be there - like I was wasting his time. Never mind my brain lesions, brain fog, memory loss, dizziness, numb and tingly body parts, etc. He was dismissive and condescending. And clearly, didn't know much about some things, but pretended he did. I was so taken aback, I contacted my PCP following the appointment to let her know how bad it was. It was without a doubt the worst experience I ever had at a doctor's office. I would hope the UW could do better than that.

Dr Brilla is very educated and explained to me what was going on.

Dr. Brilla is clearly educated and his manner is pleasant enough. I did not feel as though he had a high level of "concern". While I recognize my issue is not life threatening to me it is very concerning. Perhaps seeing a PA as a first step would have been a better option for me.

I have seen him several times and find him unprofessional and question what his true purpose is.. During a balance test, which I was having trouble with, he held my arm so I would not fall and then told me I did not have any balance issues, which is not true. When he asked if I considered if the fatigue and memory problem I was having might be dementia, he immediately followed it up with, "you know there is no treatment for that" and laughed and continued to laugh the balance of the appointment. My other doctors wanted me to see him to rule out something nurological. His only suggestion or thought was to see a psychiatrist. He completely discounted my autoimmune disorder and other diagnosis.

After waiting about eight weeks to get into see him. We were having a follow-up After a hospitalization Where they discovered several Spots On an MRI of the brain. The only thing he could tell me about it is not MS showed me several pictures and why it's not MS including pictures online But he did not address on what is in my brain. This was my main concern was about me not what's on the Internet It's been several months since then and I still have no clue what's growing inside my brain whatever it is it took less than five years to do it. Still haven't found a neurologist they could tell me what's Going on. Had placed a formal complaint against him for not addressing me And my Neurological problems. You think the doctor really cared he would call to try and resolve this somehow. The receptionist desk at this clinic these people for the most part lacked compassion take care for others But this is a growing concern for UW Health As they struggle to try and merge Two Dr. groups together… a teaching school And another group all about money.

DR BRILLA IS THE MOST UNCARING, RUDE, AND ARROGANT DR I HAVE EVER MET. HE DID NOT LISTEN TO ME AT ALL AND HAD MY PROBLEM DIAGNOSED BEFORE I EVEN ARRIVED. I HAD MY DAUGHTER (AN RN AT THE UW HOSPITAL ACCOMPANY ME FOR SUPPORT) AND HE MADE HER LEAVE THE ROOM. I SAW HIM 3 TIMES AND WAS VERY COMPLIANT TO HIS "PLAN" BUT AS I GOT SICKER WITH INCREASED VERTIGO AND BALANCE PROBLEMS HE JUST "BLEW ME OFF." I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DR BRILLA TO ANYONE!

He and his staff have been a complete waste of time in helping me manage my pain. You have to wait three months for an appointment and then when they do see you they treat you disrespectfully and impatiently. Don't waste your time with Brilla or his staff.
