Dr. Roland Leroy Skinner III, MD

Dr. Skinner and have s staff took care of my problems, and diagnosed all correctly. Will be returning. Lucky to have found him

I am a new patient to Dr. Skinner. I had to wait a little bit but I have never been in a Dr. office where I didn't have to wait. I found him quirky but thorough. At first he came across as a little nervous but once I started joking with him he seemed to relax. He spent want I feel is a lot of time with me both during the initial evaluation and then a few weeks later to review the results of the spinal tap. He was with me probably with me 45 minutes each visit. We reviewed all of the drug options to treat MS and I was given literature to study at home and then make a decision. I felt sorry for the patients behind me because he stayed with me until all of the questions I had were answered. I found him easy to talk to and knowledgeable.

What in the world is going on at Dr. Skinner's office?? My daughter is 35 years old and has four small children. About three weeks ago she was in icu at Mcleod Hospital. She can barely walk, having trouble talking, severe neurological pain and more. She was told to see a neurologist for a diagnosis. Upon arrival for the appointment Dr. Skinner refused to see her. Stateing she was 15 min. Late her apt was at 8:00am She was told to be there at 7:45 for paper work. She arrived at 7:55am. She left in tears over his refusal to see her. In the meantime she is in pain and not knowing what is wrong. Her appointment was rescheduled with a new Dr. He has brought in. Today was her appointment with this lady dr. She entered the room with absolutely no greeting. She never looked anyone in the eyes, looked down and away. This woman has absolutely no bed side manners. Today was her first day at this practice you would think she could be cordial. First most patients have to wait over an hour… to be seen. Seems crazy Dr. Skinner penalizes his patients if they are not there on the dot for his time. I guess a patients time is eralivent. It must be nice to pick and choose who you see, not because they are sick. Very disappointed in that entire office. Dr. Skinner your new partner is rude and seems to not care about you as a patient. Good luck with her. Lighten up on be on time or I'll punish you. People understand how important it is to be on time, you took it to another level by trying to make a point with a very sick girl. Shame on you

Dr. Skinner is one of our favorite doctors. My husband has been going to him approximately two years. Dr. skinner is a reserved person, but a very caring person.

I find Dr Skinner listens and is receptive to my questions. I have personally had nothing but good experiences.

Reminds me of Dr. Spock (Star Trek Spock, not the pediatrician). Not a touchy, feely doctor and I'm glad for that. I just want the facts and information. Some people may be put off by that, but I prefer it. He's informative and compassionate, but not gushing. I felt he answered all my questions and gave me enough time so that I didn't feel like he was pushing me out the door. If you expect a lot of sympathy, you probably won't get it, but he will tell you what you need to know.

This DR was very rude and angered easily when I questioned his diagnosis. He may be right on with his diagnosis but would not even consider he could be wrong or jumping to conclusions. He became so angry during my last appointment when I asked him about any other possible causes for my symptoms. Also his nurse would talk down to me when I tried to call in to report worsening symptoms. I would NOT recommend this DR to anyone.

This doctor can be very rude and seem to not care about you as a person. It has happened to me before and I finally stopped going, because he was not helping me!!!
