Dr. Ronald Wilfred Busuttil, MD

My father was fortunate enough to be referred to Dr. Busuttil for diagnosis, treatment and surgical procedure. Dr. Busuttil's team of staff was kind, courteous and top notch.

From what I read, Dr. B. is the best at what he does. He probably is a great surgeon if a transplant is necessary. In our case, we were lucky to go to Cedars to get a second opinion. My husband didn't need a liver transplant, but Dr. Busitill was adamant about doing a transplant. We saw him once with all the scans and tests that were previously done at different hospitals. He came to the room with his staff after looking at all the tests and said that my husband is a very good candidate for a transplant. We were devastated, scared and helpless as God opened up another door for us and we got referred to see another doctor at Cedars Sinai hospital. No surgery was needed for my husband's liver. He just needed a proper draining of a liver abscess that was caused by diverticulitis. Get a second and even a third opinion before doing something so serious.

If there was a God on Earth I would say it is Dr. Ronald Busuttil. He saved my sons lives. UCLA is the best Hospital ever. My youngest son had a lot of complications & we spent 118 days in intensive care where after 4 months in hospital, and after 3 Liver Transplants we saw each other on a daily routine basis. Not by choice for what happened in my son's case is very rare. But day in & day out I watch Dr. Busuttil interact with other transplanted babies & children with their parents & I was happy they all got their Livers but was sad when they got to go home & we didn't. The whole intensive care unit would listen to Raffi a children's singer & watch Winnie the Poo, I would laugh watching the nurses & Dr's sing along with the music & not a day would go by & Dr. Busuttil would ask my 2 1/2 year old son, "What time is it" & he would flip his ninja turtle watch over & show him. My son tolerated the respirator very well letting the machine breathe for him but when he saw Dr. "B" he lit up… like a light bulb & smiled. To have a surgeon take 5 minutes of his day to ask my son where he hurt, what was he watching on TV, Did he take a bathe or was he having a good day or bad day meant everything in the world to me & all of my family. Today my son is 21 & has his EMT & works at a Fire Department & wants to save other peoples lives since he was given so me chances to live because Dr. Busuttil believe in him he has chosen to do the same for other people. Personally I would rather see him be a surgeon like Dr. "B". If you want the best Liver Transplant Surgeon in the World you will go see him @ UCLA Medical Center & tell him, Colleen Lauffs sent you, you wouldn't be the first.Love you DR.
