Dr. Ronald E Clark

While my teeth aren't terrible, they are crooked and the quality of Dr. Clark's work on them was unfocused at best, and poor at worst. Before my braces were removed, I did let him know the issues I had. He blew off my concerns, and tired of continuing the discussion (what more could I do?), I let him remove my braces. He mentioned that he would attach a spring to my retainer to further straighten my teeth, and that never happened. The dentist in his office remembered the conversation, and when she reminded him of it, he replied with a "no". When I asked if anything else could be done, his office manager Cheryl responded, "you would have to pay for additional treatment". That response resulted in my becoming nonplussed (in the British sense); if something wasn't done right the first time, chances are someone isn't going to pay again in the hopes that you get it right the next time. I decided to seek out second and third opinions. Understand I had jaw surgery during my… treatment to correct my bite, and after surgery my teeth still did not touch in the back. Both orthodontists I saw told me it would be an additional 18-24 months considering my teeth needed further straightening and my bite needed extensive work. These are things Dr. Clark should have handled, including my post-surgery bite. I have been through orthodontic treatment a few times now, which may be why my review seems so scathing - something Dr. Clark knew and I feel he didn't respect. That being said, most orthodontic patients are in their teens (I am not) and parents have a hard enough time getting them to wear their retainers. If their teeth aren't straight at the end of treatment, they will be less likely to wear a retainer, effectively wasting time and money. I will not schedule any further appointments with his office, and have ignored their attempts to reach out to me. I am now faced with whether I will pay $7500 in the hopes of finishing this once and for all, somewhere else. As for you, perhaps doing a little research and finding the practices in the area with strong reviews. Segal and Iyer looks like one, Optimum also looks reputable. I also met someone who went to Dr. Amy James in Haddonfield and her teeth look incredible. If you do choose Dr. Clark, keep this in mind and attempt to get some assurance that he will take your child (or you) seriously. Also, upon visiting, you will notice that he has multiple chairs set up where he sees patients. He moves extremely fast between patients, and generally works fast, almost carelessly so. Getting him to slow down when he sees your kid could help. With all that I've said, I do think Dr. Clark is very intelligent and extremely knowledgeable. However, he didn't give my case the attention it deserved. I take zero satisfaction in writing any of this, but information about doctors is difficult to find and I feel justified with sharing my experience.
