Dr. Ronald F Francesco, MD

I had totally torn my peroneal tendon (on the outside of my ankle). I was told I would need surgery. At the time, Dr. Francesco seemed like he knew his stuff however, my case was a bit more complex. Instead of declining my surgery due to his limited knowledge and experience he performed my surgery. He told me within 6 months it was perfectly fine to resume normal activity. Only 8 months after surgery my tendon re-tore. Another doctor in his practice disagreed with his level of care saying he would have told me to wait ONE FULL YEAR before I returned to the gym. I have now spent $15k in the past year and have been to HSS in the city to help stay out of pain. HSS told me they feel he botched the operation as it should not have re-torn. I can no longer do half the things I used to at the gym and can't go the beach as the uneven terrain of the sand will cause more damage. He has completely altered my quality of life therefore I would completely steer clear of this doctor!
