Dr. Ronald Edward Goldfinger, MD

I went to this doctor office for an annual check up. I was ensured before making the appointment that it would be 100% covered by my medical insurance. The appointment was then changed to a medical consultation due to me having a burn on my arm. Although no advice or treatment or applied to the burn, I was still charged $130 due to talking about it for a few minutes. The recommendation from the doctor was to give the burn time to fully heal. I'll never go back.

My husband and I needed a new PCP after the death of our previous PCP, who was our doctor for nearly 40 years. Dr. Pettus recommended Dr. Goldfinger and we have been very grateful that he did. Not only is Dr. Goldfinger extremely thorough, but he is knowledgeable and caring and he has a sense of humor, which is needed when dealing with the public. Frankly, a sense of humor is essential in just getting through life. Most of the needed lab work is done on site, and he had a someone who came to the office to do a doppler/ultrasound for patients who require this procedure. My husband had this done on his carotid arteries and he was, also, checked for a possible aneurysm, as his father had an aneurysm. The office staff, from the front desk receptionist, Jennifer, to Dot and a new young woman who do venopunctures and EKGs, are equally knowledgeable, courteous and friendly with senses of humor. Dr. Goldfinger realizes that an efficient, courteous, and friendly office staff is… essential to an internist, or any medical practice.

When our former physician died, we were in search of another PCP. Dr. Mark Pettus recommended Dr. Goldfinger. I have never regretted our choice of Dr. Goldfinger as our PCP. My husband and I are on Medicare with a supplement, but many physicians may be reluctant to assume the care of the elderly on Medicare. Not this office. Their office and ancillary staff are courteous, and efficient, with a sense of humor, a necessity if one deals with the public. Dr. Goldfinger's nurse/receptionist is responsive any time I have a question or need a prescription renewed. Dr. Goldfinger is very thorough, and orders all necessary tests. Most of the laboratory blood tests can be done on site, which obviates a separate trip to another laboratory. He had an ultra sonographer who comes to his office to test for carotid insufficiencies or abdominal aortic aneurysms. He takes his time with his patients, and listens to their concerns. He is not afraid to refer a patient to another physician if he deems… this necessary or a patient asks for a referral. Dr. Goldfinger, also, has a terrific sense of humor and really cares about the patients who walk through his door.

Dr. Goldfinger has the right personality for his profession. He is patient, takes concerns seriously, and listens. His exams are careful and thorough. Many years of experience, and it shows.

Dr.Goldfinger was best doctor I ever had . Can not believe he dropped me as a patient cause i owed $46.00 for lab work that we found out was not covered under our insurance.Warning: front his current receptionist is awful,she takes forever to get things done, her response to anything is "when i get to it" She makes him look real bad.

Never before have an insurance issue in switching doctors. I've never had to call my insurance company and tell them which doctor I'm going to see next. This isn't the case with Dr. Goldfinger's office. After having set the appointment weeks ago, I arrived on time. The lady had me sit down and fill out paperwork. Typical procedure when changing doctors. After about five minutes she asked me to come up to the counter and told me that I could not be seen as a patient there because my insurance company still had me in its system as being with the doctor I'm wanting to switch care from. I asked the lady, politely, why I was not asked about this sort of stuff when initially setting up the appointment over the phone. The lady very rudely yelled "how would we know what insurance you have?". Duh? I explicitly remember being asked over the phone who my insurance carrier was. The other staff member sat beside her laughing. The lady was going on and on about how it's not her… responsibility, that I needed to call the insurance company and set things up and then call back and set up another appointment. At this point I steaming. I told her "whatever" and walked out with my son. The staff member then chased me out into the parking lot and yelled "Don't call back, you won't be a patient here". I told her "That's fine" and walked off. The doctor's office is located in a dumpy part of Pittsfield, across from Rite-Aide, and the office is VERY dirty and smelly. I had a bad feeling about the place as I was walking in there. My suspicions were only confirmed.

If has not caused an ill effect on a patient , chances are he will . He is a lower tier doctor and has an unprofessional staff . You feel automatically as if you are cared for by an accountant rather than a true physician.

Unfortunately this doctor choose the wrong profession, his lack of understanding of his oath.He is supposed to make people better. He is not an altrui ...

Dr. Goldfinger's relaxed, unhurried style gives the patient a feeling that his/her concerns are being thoroughly considered and addressed.
