Dr. Ronald Duane Hanson, MD

This might be hard to believe; but… Dr Hanson’s lack of authenticity of real care or concern, his level of arrogance, infallibility and was unaware of basic medical surgical post-op complications. This led to a 4 month battle with my doctor. He insisted not to take my own doctors concerns (even saying he was wrong because he was the expert when it came to anything related to Inspire). He was so convincing and ‘certain’ he was right that my trust and belief in him…that I was very close to sepsis and 2 infectious disease specialists getting brought in by my doctor determining the injection was not a bad surface post-op injection; but a viral multiple staphylococcus infection of the actual implant (which any surgeon doing implants is on heighten alert). That delay led to my having to lose my entire “Inspire System (after it had treated my sleep apnea so well, that it took me out of heart failure). Now I’m without any treatment…staphylococcus is in my system. Without a heroic effort by… my primary doctor, I have no doubt the misdiagnosed infection and arrogance of Dr Hanson, I very well would have died of sepsis. Dr Hanson should not be doing any implant surgeries.

Dr. Hanson came into the treatment room in a hurry, saw me in a hurry and left in a hurry. I could tell he didn’t even look at any of the paperwork I filled out about my visit. He barely examined me or look for causes of my tinnitus except feel my jaw joint. He just wanted another test done and didn’t talk to me about any of my other symptoms or concerns or anything. I have been suffering and he acted like he could of cared less. They just have me a couple papers to read to figure out things to do for myself instead of discussing any gof them with me or other paths of treatment.

Diagnosed me with fluid in my ear and recommend a tube. It was was ear wax stuck to my eardrum.

I saw Dr. Hanson for dizziness I had been having for a couple of months. I think everyone at the clinic was very nice. Dr. Hanson was sympathetic to how bad I was feeling, did a few tests and was able to treat me for the dizziness at the same appointment. I felt so much better before I left. Dr. Hanson helped me significantly with a problem I had been dealing with for quite awhile and I am grateful for his expertise. I would recommend Dr. Hanson and the clinic to others.

I had issues and complications with the tube in my ear, that it had to be removed EIGHTEEN (18) DAYS after it was put in. When the tube was placed in my right ear by Dr. Hanson, it felt like there was a pin in my ear to hold it on to my head. I had partial paralysis on the right side of my face, because a facial expression that showed more than my 4 front teeth or opened my mouth wider than an O, I could feel the tube jab my jaw in the back of the mouth. It caused my jaw to be out of alignment, and my bite felt off. My ear pressure and equilibrium were totally off when the tube was in my ear, and I couldnt think or function properly. My hearing was muffled or amplified by loud sounds, and I could not focus on anything the way I was hearing and processing things. I had a hard time hearing voices because they sounded distant, loud noises would be 10 times as loud, and vibrations sounded amplified. When Mr. Hanson put an aspirator type instrument in my ear to clean the tube out… before filling it up with a antibiotic silicone, he sucked out a big chunk of hard wax. It felt too big to come out my ear canal, because hurt badly. Since that visit, I now have the annoyance of 24/7 tinnitus. I struggle to understand this Dr. and why he advised a 40 year old with minor ear problems her entire life, to get a tube placed in the ear for a "little bit of fluid". If he had done his diagnosis more thouroghly, he would have seen the large chunk of wax in my ear and cleaned it out prior to surgery. Then, he would have realized that could have been simply the problem. Learn from my mistake, and RUN the other way. If you have to see him, then I advise not to do anything major without a 2nd opinion. My hearing is worse after seeing Mr. Hanson.

was very dissapointed, didn't go over all sypmtoms that i was having. I was in real pain and was looking for some sort of answer, didn't even get pain meds. I had to call another doctor just to get medicine for the pain I was in.
