Dr. Ronald Katz The Founder of TherapyNYDr. Ronald Katz is an expertly trained clinician with over 40 years of experience. He is duly licensed by the State of New York to practice individual psychotherapy, couple therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. Dr. Katz has received his doctoral training in Psychology from Yeshiva University and his advanced training and certification in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis from The Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies. He has spent much of his professional life in private practice, while also teaching and training beginning therapists in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis and applying his skills directing day treatment and residential treatment programs for children and adolescents. Dr. Katz is a Diplomate in Psychotherapy and a member of The American Association for Marital and Family Therapy. He is on the faculty of New York University and is the author of professional articles on the topics of depression, treatment of suicide, overcoming …passivity, adoption coaching, parent-child relationship, relationships and counseling. He is the director of The Counseling Center for The Adoption Family, a co-founder of The Adoption Circle, founder of the National Association for Adoption Counselors and the auther of numerous papers on adoption. He is the father of four children the youngest of which is adopted. His approach is interactive and solution-focused; to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges.
