Dr. Ronald Mark Laub, MD

Dr. Ronald Laub is a poor excuse for a doctor. I was already established at the practice with Dr. Christopher Malinky; how I got transferred Dr "Lost Cause" I don't know. After being allergic to many oral pain meds, I sought to have an intrathecal pain pump put in for two reasons (1)meds were coming up missing and (2)I truly felt I needed constant management of my pain. Dr. Laub said before I could have the intrathecal pain pump put in, I had to taper down on my Dilaudid and quit smoking. After the worst two weeks of tapering down on the Dilaudid and quitting smoking successfully, I went to my "pre-op" appointment with Dr. Laub. He said I was not a candidate for a pain pump and walked out the door. I sat there with my jaw dropped, pain intensifying and anger boiling. After the awfulness of what I just went through doing everything that was asked of me, he basically dumped me on the curb. This started a long process of having to find a new pain management doctor to take me on. I… wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to Dr. Laub. The staff are short-fused, all they care about is receiving their money even before my insurance has paid their 80%, you do end up seeing PA's more often than the doctors and God-forbid you should have an emergency- their answering service is a joke. No way am I going back there. I'll live in and die from the pain first.

I wouldn't hold much water in all the 5 star reviews. On my first visit, he asked that I go online and rate him positively because his rating on these websites was poor. I agreed because he seemed friendly and knowledgeable. I no longer feel this way. After 4 visits I will never see him again and mind you it isn't because I went to see him for pain medication. He is uncouth, presumptuous and moody. The worst doctor I have ever had.

I have been in pain management for about 8 years and have seen 4 pain doctors in 2 states. Dr. Laub does very well at listening to my issues and trying to come up with programs that will help. Its easy for some doctors to just load you up with medications until you have no pain but that only last a short time. It takes someone who cares to really work with you to find long term solutions. Dr. Laub will work with you to find a solution that works for you.

Adam who is the PA at this office. Dr. Malinky have been very nice. BUT THEN THERE IS DR. LAUB, I have never met this man, but only spoke to him on the phone and he is the most arrogant, rude and uncaring jerk I have ever come across as far as a doctor is concerned. Had a problem with a script and wanted to make sure I was following the rules with the office and he yelled at me over the phone and stated, if I couldn't get the script filled the way it was written "that's too bad and there is not a doggone thing I could do about it, and why are you bothering me about it?" Go to this office at your own risk!!!!

Dr. Laub checks my back, neck and legs so there isn't any problems. If there is, he will do what he can at that appointment to correct it or make an appointment to correct it. He did so at this appointment. I have total faith in him as my doctor. I have had specialists from MAYO and other major hospitals in MN. He fits in with those doctors or better then some of them. Thanks to Jeremy for his help too.

I have extreme, constant, neuropathic facial pain in which no one has been able to understand. I have traveled the country for help. Dr. Laub has been treating me for over 18 months and he has done everything in his power to manage my pain to a level I can once again function day to day. This has included numerous nerve blocks to varying degrees, drugs, non-traditional medicine, sending me to specialists throughout the state numerous times, and even bringing medical articles to my appointments that he has been researching to help me cure/manage pain. This doctor has gone above and beyond anything I have experienced. I currently have a team of Dr. Laub, two neurologists, a physiologist, a general practitioner, and a neurosurgeon. Dr. Laub is the quarterback of this team and ensures that every stone is uncovered to try to give me my life back. This man is BRILLANT, I have been to the best of the best and he is the best. He is so compassionate and caring to how my life… personally, professionally, and physically has been affected by this condition. I am seen timely, that being said every appointment is very thorough and touches on all aspects of my pain.

One of the best doctors I have ever been to. I have been going to Dr. Laub now for 3 years. I have a difficult condition to manage with a complicated pain profile. He has never given up on pursuing a pain management plan for me. He has thought outside of the box, looked for solution, and has made this painful journey a collaborative effort. He wants my input, and he listens. He is compassionate, having experienced several knee surgeries himself (and post surgery infections), as well as disc issues in his own neck. He gets what pain is. There have been many, many time that Dr. Laub has expressed empathy and caring about the pain I am in, letting me know how much he wishes he could completely eliminate my pain for me. He goes above and beyond, and I feel like a real person that matters to him, not just a patient. Now, just a word about the negative reviews many people are giving this office. If you are up to shenanigans and are come in looking for drugs, you are a disrespectful and… demanding person, or you just think everyone else is the problem so you're ready to blame them for all of your issues....Dr. Laub won't put up with. He's very outspoken in that regard, he's been in this business for a long time, and has seen it all, and he's not going to budge on bad behavior. Do the right thing, be courteous yourself, show up on time, treat his time with respect, having your questions ready and he will respond in kind. By the way, I have had issues getting to a few appoints on time myself, and on both occasions, I was allowed to wait or be worked in later in the day. I called them while in traffic on the way to give them the earliest information on my ETA., and make sure they could still see me. I did not just turn up late, and push the point. And I was respectful to the office staff, they returned the favor.

I have to say this is one of the worst doctors offices that I have ever been to! The staff, doctor and PA's are all very rude! They do not care about the patient. They do not listen to the patient! They don't follow up with you like they are supposed to. Dr. Laub is very errogant, rude and uncaring. They don't tell you anything. They make mistakes all the time but will blame the patient. Don't go to this doctors office, go to a doctor who listens and cares! This office changes staff more than anywhere I have ever seen. And the staff at this office don't even care for the doctors and PA's. Terrible wait times and they try to collect money that isn't even owed. I do not recommend this doctor & doctors office.

Because I was younger than the average back pain patient, he disregarded the MRIs (plural) and told me my pain was in my head. One epidural caused me to be temporarily paralyzed from the waist down (again, all in my head), and another landed me in the ER for a blood patch (ANGRY doctor for having to be called in at night). If you enjoy being belittled, patronized, and called a liar, this is the doctor for you. I really just wanted to get on with my life with less pain. I found a different doctor.

I saw Dr Laub for L4/5 back pain. Found him to be arrogant, curt, and rude. He didn't want to hear me out on anything and kept dismissing what I said. Very brusque. Wanted one word answers. He had time to tell me his son was in medical school, though. Big whoop! Assumed I was a medicare patient - I wasn't. I didn't trust him to stick needles in my back so never went back after initial appointment.
