Dr. Ronald Leblanc, MD

FIRST SAID I WOULD LOOSE HAIR AFTER 2ND CHEMO, WENT OUT AND BOUGHT A WIG. THEN DENIED THAT. SAID WOULD NEED CHEMO AFTER 8 WEEKS POST SURGERY. NOW ITS 6 WEEKS, NEVER INFORMED ME THAT THIS IS THE MOST AGGRESSIVE CANCER. OFFICE GIVING PAPERS WITH OTHER PATIENT INFO. ASKED FOR LAB RESULT AND SAID IT WAS NEVER DONE. WHEN I WENT THE WEEK BEFORE, 8 TUBES WERE DRAWN. INFORMED ME I HAD 30 MIN TO ASK QUESTION AND HE WAS LEAVING FOR HIS NEXT PATIENT. RUDE MADE ME CRY MORE THAN ONCE. 5 WEEKS POST-OP INFORMS ME WE HAVE A CONFLICT IN PERSONALITY AND FIRED ME AS A PATIENT. RUN ITS YOUR LIFE, DON'T PUT IT IN HIS HANDS.

Quite simply this man saved my life. I saw Dr. LeBlanc for treatment of Stage 4 non-hodgkins lymphoma in 1990-92, I was about six weeks from Dead and this man never gave up on me despite my being a typical ungrateful and ignorant paitient. I thought I knew what was best for me, and would tell him what I wanted... as if this experience was similar to shopping at wal-mart. As the consumer, I beleved I was in charge, and despite several self-motivated attempts at trying to "Do what I wanted" and opening myself to infections and complications Dr. Ron was paitent with me and gently guided me during my treatment and subsequent BMT at MD Anderson. This was twenty years ago folks, when one did not have the options one has now. Back then it was simply fight or die. It is now over twenty years later and in part because of his inspiration I am now a still alive, healthy 50 year old cancer free guy and a med-surgical Oncology Registered nurse. And all the good I have done in this position… for others would not have been possible if this one man chose to give up on me. He did not, and I am here and a better person because of him. So read this before you vent your "hurtfeelyoma" on this man because he forgot to smile at you today.

Dr. LeBlanc is one of those VERY rare doctors who spends whatever time is needed to explain - in terms you can understand - your condition, treatment options (including their advantages & disadvantages), and answer any questions you may have. He always follows up with any lab results. He sends letters to my other doctors - with copies to me. He gives me copies of any lab reports. He told me that, any time I have a question, to call, and he will get back to me. His office staff (and he has 3 offices) have always been courteous, professional, and call me with results, return my calls, set up appointments. I do not even have a critical condition, just a chronic one. He coordinates medications with my other doctors. From the beginning, when I only saw him every six months, he knew who I was, and my history. I am absolutely thrilled to have found such a caring, thorough doctor.

He spoke to me in a way I understood.

I've needed a hematologist for 37 years. I recently tried to switch to this doctor's practice because he opened an office in my neighborhood. I used to drive over an hour to my previous doctor, which is now too far for me to drive. I was refused to be seen because I had once seen his partner about 5-6 years ago. His partner also refused to see me, without explanation. I don't think either of them remember the oath they took when deciding to become doctors!
