Dr. Lehman and his team are incredible! They performed a spinal fusion on my L4-S1 and I couldn’t ask for a better outcome.

Dr Lehman has treated my family and best friend. He is a remarkably talented surgeon with a team that’s hands down the best at Columbia. We are so grateful for his care!!

Dr. Lehman has performed 2 surgeries on me that were 2 days apart. They consisted of an anterior and posterior spinal fusion with instrumentation and decompression from L4 - S1. The surgery was a great success and I only have great things to say about Dr. Lehman and his entire team. From my initial contact with his office followed by my visits, the 2 surgeries, my 5 day hospital stay to my post op follow up, I was supported with exceptional care and treatment. I live in California and flew to NY for this surgery. The entire team made a difficult decision and situation as easy to navigate as possible. I'm currently 3 months post surgery and continue to heal without any complications. As a note, Dr. Lehman performed decompression surgery on my 16 year old daughter several years ago who also had a very good outcome. I will likely need further surgery in the future and without hesitation will continue with Dr. Lehman. I recommend Dr. Lehman without any hesitation.

I had an acute herniated (and extruded) disc that made it impossible for me to lay down or sit down. Excruciating leg pain and numbness. I tried an epidural injection and steroids but nothing even touched the pain. There was only one surgeon who I would let take care of me - Dr. Ron Lehman. He has extraordinary skills as a minimally invasive surgeon (which he performed on me) as well as a cervical spine and deformity surgeon. The Och Spine Hospital at NewYork Presbyterian (Columbia) is special - you'll never see patients get better care anywhere. From the moment you hit the front door until you leave, every single person with whom you interact is solely invested in your care. I woke up in the recovery room and all of the leg pain and numbness was gone! I followed Dr. Lehman's instructions explicitly and returned to work as an orthopedic surgeon 5 days after the surgery and returned to my full operative schedule 2 weeks after the surgery. The Och Spine Hospital at NYP is unlike any… other hospital and I am so fortunate to have been able to get my care there - I have referred countless patients who need spine surgery and people come from all over the world to have their surgery there.

The experience that I have had with the physician and his practice has been incredible. From before deciding on surgery through my recovery nothing is too much for this group. The Spine Hospital has provided me with superior care and made me feel comfortable with my decision to have surgery. The surgery has made my everyday life almost normal and I expect the results to continue to make me happy with my decisions all along the way.

After suffering through years of lumbar back pain without some clarity on the causes of my pain, Dr. Lehman identified the source and provided me a course of treatment besides surgery. Sadly, those options did not work and Dr. Lehman operated. The pain relief was immediate. Everything was pretty straight forward with Dr. Lehman and his staff. I was able to return to work much quicker than i had planned to. Highly recommend!!

It's been a week since my surgery; I can't believe how fantastic I feel. From my first visit, I felt confident that I was in good hands. His staff (in particular Christine and Kristin) worked to ensure that I was well cared for and prepared for my procedure. I felt like Dr. Lehman considered my entire situation (instead of just looking at the affected part) and advised me on the best course of treatment. I'd give more stars if I could!

Dr. Lehman is always extremely warm, professional, and knowledgeable. After struggling for years with lower back pain, and eventually difficulty walking, I was able to lower my ODI from 48 to 0. Today I am pain free thanks to Dr. Lehman and his amazing team.

He was very sure of himself in explaining my situation and giving me options in relieving my pain. No one else gave me the confidence that they could help me the way he did, or considered my health as a whole picture. His confidence and knowledge was so apparent!

From the first visit to the surgery and post operative appointment he was accessible, warm and supportive. He answered all my husband's and my questions and was available to talk to my family several times after surgery. Excellent surgeon as evidenced by my recovery and the fact that my pre operative pain was gone almost right after surgery. As an added plus his nurse and assstant were available through the first weeks after surgery to answer our questions and concerns. Thank you!
