My 22 year old daughter had an emergency appendectomy this summer at Washington Regional Hospital. Dr. Mullis was the surgeon on duty, so we had no time to read any of his reviews. Over 5 weeks later Dr Mullis nurse called her to say lab results showed she has cancer and to come into the office to learn more. What a cruel way to delivery this news! We had to wait 6 tortuous hours for our appointment to hear what type of cancer, where it was located, if it was malignant, etc. We were never told they were even sending the appendix to be biopsied after the surgery, so we didn't even know we were waiting for test results. When asked why it took so long to contact us, they said they couldn't find her phone number. Ridiculous! Her cell number and her emergency contact were both listed on her hospital admissions, insurance and discharge papers. When confronted his response was "what difference does it make now". Unbelievable! They had her lab results 3 days after surgery… but waited 5 weeks to reach us. We now have an appointment scheduled with an oncologist for full scan and other tests to determine the severity.

Requested lancing of an abcess because Crohns patients must avoid surgeries because of inhibited healing. He cut a huge chunk out anyway - meant more money for him to perform surgery than a lancing. After the fact, heard he was "cut" happy. Find someone else!

Dr. Mullis was my surgeon when I had a blockage from scar tissue. My small intestine was completely crimped shut from the excessive build-up of scar tissue from a past surgery. Dr. Mullis is conservative in his approach. I really like that. When I came into the ER with the blockage, Dr. Mullis took my case and performed many tests trying to determine where the blockage was at. Finally unable to determine the exact location he told my husband that he was going to have to operate. He chose to make a conservative approach by attempting laparoscopic surgery first. He then told my husband that if the laparoscopic surgery didn't work he would have to completely open me up. In my case the conservative approach didn't work and Dr. Mullis had to cut me open. (it took 28 staples to close up the incision afterwards) Needless to say Dr. Mullis did an outstanding job removing all the scar tissue and getting my bowels moving again. He has a wonderful bedside manner. He's very experienced and takes… GOOD care of his patients. I would highly recommend him for any type of Intestinal surgeries.

Dr. Mullis botched my husband's surgery. He knicked his Spleen and so removed it and my husband bled profusely. He was put on a ventilator and had congestive heart failure kidney failure peritonitis and was in I C U for days and was latter sent to another hospital for more care and two more hospitals after that.After almost three months in the hospital he is home having physical therapy and is learning to dress himself and walking some with a walker. We feel Dr.Mullis must be stopped from harming another person.Read about him and see what what other complications he has caused people.I would not want to see another person go through this nightmare.

Dr. Mullis and his staff are excellent in the way they run their office. His staff is very efficient and very organized. Dr. Mullis has done 3 surgeries on me and I do not trust anyone else. He is always smiling and checks on you before and after surgeries to make sure you are doing well. Dr. Mullis cares about his patients.
