Dr. Ronald Dale Nichol, DO

I came to Dr. Nichol after much frustration with a prior doctor in the practice that discounted pain that I was experiencing in my abdomen and back. Dr. Nichol immediately knew what the problem was and got my in for surgery so quickly and I finally have relief instead of being told I just need to suck it up and do stretches. He also caught another issue based on some of other symptoms described that other doctors just brushed off. HIs staff is also top notch. I finally feel like I have my life back and I owe it to him actually listening, caring and believing in what I had to say about how I was feeling.

I have been going to Dr. Nichol for several years, ended up with him after the massive turn over at St. Lukes Dr. offices. Aside from low quality bedside manor, that is fine, I can deal with that, because usually technical people are not high on communication skills. The issue that I had is that I had MRI, showed a disk issue with back, (very painful). Started PT, they said get a anti inflammatory steroid asap, and pain meds. He only would give "Tylenol" , no steroid, then after insisting for more, gave something that was not close to what PT requested....the pharmacist laughed when I said it was for back pain, she said "that won't do anything" it didn't. I called back..their only solution was going from basically OTC pain, to seeing an orthopedic surgeon. SERIOUSLY? Going from 1-100 like that? Wouldn't even take into account the PT plan.... Long story short... PT worked it out after 6-8 weeks, suffered through the pain till it worked DID NOT GO SEE A surgeon (may down the… road, but not now) Point is, he does what he wants, won't listen to patient, or other 3rd party requests, and leaves them high n dry. I am leaving the St. Lukes system after 20 years, their priorities are to get more locations open, not take care of patients like they used to. Sad to see, but overall, their whole system has gone down hill, never ever thought I would say that.

I have been seeing Dr. Nichol for many years and through many ailments and conditions. He is friendly, attentive and professional and I have always found his diagnosis/advise to be sound. He has worked with me through many difficult conditions and referred me to expert specialty care when needed (e.g., lower and upper spine disc removal, and chronic knee pain). I would recommend Dr. Nichol to anyone seeking a highly professional and caring physician. As an added bonus, his staff is friendly, attentive and highly responsive as well.

Not professional at all. Prescribed medications to my wife without visit to diagnose her, did gyno exam o her for unexplained reason, was very short with me when i would come to office. Would almost have to think he was having affair with my wife.

Terrible beside manner.

Very aloof, not thorough, not interested in listening, quite honestly seem like he just did not give a flip. Save yourself and those you love.... Find another Dr. I should have known by the ease of his appointment schedule, very easy to get in for an appointment. He must not have to many returning pts. I sure will NOT be returning. I left not knowing anything more than when I went in . He had none, zero, zilch idea of what was going on, not even a simple possibility. It was a wasted 25.00 co-pay When look back , I think I was actually robbed by him.

Very poor social skills and extremely rude, rushed through the appointment and interrupted me many times in an aggressive manner. He also would only address the symptoms he wanted to treat and I had to visit a real doctor to get the help I needed. He would do more for the world as the manager of an oil rig than as a doctor.

Poor bedside manner; rude and disinterested. Terrible listening skills; interrupted me multiple times while I was trying to explain my symptoms. Ignored an important symptom until I brought it back up. I will not be going back.

Absolutely terrible bedside manner. Unlike his fellow practitioners at SLS, Dr. Nichols is rude and extremely unprofessional.

Dr Nichol made a good first impression on me and I have referred several friends to him. He takes the time to actually listen to you and work with you to find the best results for his patients.Would recommend him to anyone that is in need of a great dr.
