Dr. Ronald Edward Pruitt, MD

Dr. Pruitt was 2 hours late for my husband’s procedure. He was released after a procedure removing a stone from his bile duct. He was in a lot of pain, I called Dr. Pruitt’s answering service 3 times in distress and they would not take him back at hospital. My husband ended up at Vanderbilt for 2 weeks with pancreatitis. We are thankful for the care we received at Vanderbilt. We were not happy with the care from Dr. Pruitt.

Talented doctor and good communicator. Does advanced procedures that other doctors do not do and can take a long time to perform. Sees many second opinions. Always worth the wait. Don't misinterpret his competence and confidence for arrogance. I suspect some of the other reviewers preferred to "shoot the messenger" and rather complain than listen. He is a straight shooter and I appreciate that!

I just want to say that Dr Pruitt and all his staff was the very best. They were very caring and made you feel comfortable . I was very uneasy about having a colonoscopy but I couldn't have had a better group. Thank you Dr Pruitt and staff Donna Stringer

I can not stand coming to see Dr. Pruitt. He has NO manners whatsoever. Always running late, and not because he's helping patients. It's because he's busy listening to himself talk because he believes himself to be the Great Gastro Doc. He's not even my doctor, I wouldn't be so stupid to see this quack. Unfortunately, my terminal mother was referred to him AGAIN after having dealt With him over a decade ago. You would think he would grow out of his arrogance. I'm here to tell you, he STILL hasn't

I was in severe pain after having had my gallbladder removed for over a year and a half. I went to my gastroenterologist and he kept telling me nothing was wrong. Basically, it was all in my head. I went to the ER where one doctor told me he suspected sphincter of Oddi dysfunction as my problem. He told me to go back to my gastro doctor. I did and he said that was ridiculous and I had been reading too much internet medicine. I told him to read the referring doctors orders. I wound up going to several more doctors about the SOD issue and because of what my attending gastro had written in his reports, I was not treated. I was finally referred to Dr. Pruitt by the doctor in the ICU at Centennial. Dr. Pruitt saw me 3 days later and performed the ERCP later that week. I have been pain free ever since! He saved my life!

Unfortunately, my mother was assigned Dr. Pruitt in the hospital. He is a very poor communicator, rude, & uncaring doctor. I am sorry that she ever had to deal with him. Thankfully, we have found another doctor to go too.

Dr. Pruitt said I was a celiac and should join the celiac support group. I did and followed the non-glutinous plan. Yet I was still having much diarrhes. The physician assistant looked at other blood work and said I was NOT a celiac! I went to the Vitamin Shoppe and got on a good probiotic. It helped me for a long time, but occasionally I would have diarrhes . Then I went on a flagyl which helped. Dr. Pruitt knew I had had CDiff and did no stool check. After all these years I was still suffering from CDiff.

Wow, I can't believe the negative reviews of Dr Pruitt. I didn't have to wait long in the waiting room with each visit. Dr Pruitt seemed to know his stuff and his nursing assistance were very friendly and professional.

Would not recommend Dr Pruitt. You wait for ever !!! No bedside manners Very abrupt

Courteous, punctual and thorough. I felt like he went the extra mile to diagnose my problem that others had been unable to figure out.
