I had three surgeries by this jerk and I am still having problems. He must use the same language with all of his patients because when I asked why he did not return my phone calls he replied "because I am working my tail off seeing 30 patients a day" almost identical to the other patient on this page. He left me with chronic ear and throat pain. When I asked him to culture my ears because I had had fungal sinus infections, he threw his little instrument and said "I will check your "d_____"ears but I know there is nothing wrong with them". I continue to be in unrelenting pain and I too have run out of money. I am just beginning to work with another physician. There are other doctors who practice ENT (Baptist, UNC-Chapel Hill, Duke University) and if you have to - go to another state. Just because there are only two private practices doesn't mean there aren't other doctors. This man is dangerous. He is so arrogant he thinks he has all the answers and will not do anything to find… out the correct answer to your problem. I continued to ask questions and he finally told me "I think it is time you take a walk". Please don't jeapordize your life in this man's hands. They use their own outpatient center which does not have all the equipment it needs to thoroughly perform surgery as I am a testament to that. I made him do my last two surgeries at Medical Park because he kept missing part of the fungus that was in my sinuses because "I can't see with the equipment I have here". I can't say enough about how incompetent and hateful this man is. When I told him the nurses at Medical Park had talked about how hateful he was to me he said "oh please get over yourself and quit being such a baby". He is a horrible doctor and should be ashamed of the way he treats his patients.

I agree with the previous review regarding this doctor. This office is great at setting up your appointment, but that's the only thing they are good at. Dr. Shealy is arrogant and definitely doesn't like you to ask any questions regarding your care. I have been with him over a year and continue to have problems. I have taken on the responsibility of trying to find out what is happening to me as he doesn't seem to care. Don't expect him to return phone calls as "I'm working my a__ off seeing over 30 patients a day". I don't see how that benefits me. The trouble is Piedmont ENT pretty much has this area covered as there is only one other private practice in Winston- Salem which is worse than Piedmont ENT and then there is Baptist. Check out other practices. Don't get yourself involved in this circus. You will not be pleased.

I've had 4 visits in 3 weeks and I am now scheduled for a 5th visit in THREE MORE WEEKS with no more information today about what the problem is, the cause of the problem, or potential treatment than the information I had 3 weeks ago. This group is very good at scheduling (and billing for) appointments. They just don't seem to be very good at treating ailments...for conditions in which they are supposed to specialize!

I have been seeing Dr. Shealy since 2000, he took out my tonsils then and I have been seeing him on and off for allergies, sinus and vertigo. He is great! Very reliable, listens and cares! I also take my daughter to see him, he also took out her tonsils and fixed her nose from having so many nose bleeds. He was so great with her, and we trust him fully with all her care and my needs as well. He is truely a wonderful doctor, I would recommend him to anyone!
