The lady who schedules appointments and checks the patients in is extremely unprofessional, inconsiderate, and disrespectful to patients. It is not worth seeing Dr. Smith if you have to deal with her attitude.

I saw Dr. Smith 17 yrs ago. I lived in Big Stone Gap, Va then. He later had me working with Jay Schilling! I need help desperately now and I know on one or don't trust anyone here. I need him!

My experience with Dr. Smith was not awful, but it was not extremely helpful. Appointments are difficult, and I attribute that mostly to the terrible office staff. They are extremely unprofessional, rude, and honestly the reason I no longer see this doctor. Dr. Smith takes time to talk through your case with you but is truly looking for the right medication...that seemed to be the only goal, find the pill that works. Let me please reiterate, the aggravation of working with his office assistant is not worth your time or trouble. On more than five occassions she escalated our conversation to a strong disagreement over appointment times. It was like nothing I've ever experienced.

Excellent doctor. Extremely intelligent. Always a pleasant experience.

Takes far to long to get in to see the dr.

I have only been treating with him for a few months, however, I feel better now that I did after treating for over 5 years with another doctor. This man is extremely intelligent and caring.

This doctor tried to have me involuntarily committed at the same time I was sueing his pardner Dr. Moffitt. He signed the papers w ithout even seeing me relying on an internist's report. I was sent home without being admitted to Lakeshore Hospital because the doctors found no cause to admit me.
