Dr. Thies completed a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (magna cum laude) at Wayne State University in 1996. After that he was a production chemist for a pharmaceutical manufacturer. Recently he took over the position of Director of Emergency Services at St. John River District Hospital in St. Clair. Outside work he enjoys travel, racquetball, and golf.
