Dr. Ronald Paige Winfield, MD

Dr. Winfield seems to not only be extremely ignorant about patient care their conditions, but he is also very unorganized and unfocused. He never seems to have the right information on previous visits and only recalls something when you have reminded him. If you are requesting a refill on a medication he may accuse you of misusing your medication because his way of tracking your scripts is not only archaic, but he is not able to do the basic math.

The good doctor gave me a refill prescription meant for another patient. He lines up all the patients folders in a row on his desk, and when you walk in his office, he just guesses which one you are and opens that folder. He's got so many patients he can't keep track of their identities. Maximizing profits - while minimizing contact with anyone in his waiting room - are his prime endeavors. The good doctor is - in short - an incompetent quack.

Terrible experience. Horrible nurse practitioner. I do not know how this practice has stayed in business. It shouldn't be! Dr.Winfield is condescending and rude. Never have I experienced the feeling of being stigmatized more than in dealing with these people. I cannot express how awful the entire experience is at this office. I was treated as if I was a suspicious drug addict, secretly hiding information , even though I provided nearly 20 years worth of records from my previous psychiatrist, and had never had a problem with my meds or an addiction of any kind. The nurse practitioner I was assigned to, told me my prior doctor must have been uneducated as to which medications I needed. She didn't realize she was speaking about a Harvard Medical School graduate, who is a highly regarded, exceptional psychiatrist, providing superb mental health care and is the best doctor I have met in my 50 years. When I refused to take medication which I knew was inappropriate for me, I was… discharged. They charge ridiculous fees or CANCEL your appointment if you are a few minutes late, even if you call ahead to say you are having car trouble (lost my brakes on Rt. 495), or are stuck in heavy traffic due to an auto accident (which you have no control over). But, if they keep you waiting, they do not even acknowledge or apologize for that. The practice regularly bills your insurance for several services you have not received. In my opinion Dr.Winfield , and the entire practice, is an example of an awful and extremely unprofessional health care provider. The practice should be avoided if at all possible, it is not client friendly to say the least.

This practice is the worst place to go. Dr. Winfield is the owner of this practice and should be held accountable for his employees actions. Never in my life have I been treated with such disrespect in my life. This place is a joke. It took forever for the intake coordinator to get back to me for an appointment. When I finally got one I saw a nurse practitioner and was given my prescriptions only to wait a month for a preauthorization before I could even take them. A preauthorization normally takes 2 to 3 days and this office expects you to do their job. I called the office my insurance the office my insurance the office and then was told only one person works on preauthorizations after I had talked to 2 different people days before. I asked to speak with the manager who NEVER called me back but finally my preauth went through. Next I was seeing Pam as a therapist who in my opinion sucks. I was speaking to a friend who had been seeing her and a mutual patient in the waiting… area who both told me exactly what she told me to do. So I decided I didn't want to see her anymore and asked the receptionist to cancel all of my up coming appointments with her. Of course she didn't and the next time I went to see my psychiatrist I waited 3 hours and went up to the window 3 times to find out what the problem was. They told me I was discharged from the practice and I should have never been checked in. I asked why and they said missed appointments. Missed appointments?!? I cancelled my appointments I didn't miss them. Having 3 different staff me members looking at me dumbfounded they apologized told me they would try and see if another provider could see me in the practice and would get me refills on my scripts. The woman assured me she would call me with all of this information later in the day or within the next 48 hours. As expected no call. I called a few days later explaining my situation the woman I spoke to didn't have a clue of what I was talking about. She sent me to intake who called back to my surprise to tell me she couldn't schedule me an appointment because I was discharged I explained what happened and what the woman looked like and she went and spoke with her who of course said she never said any of the things I was talking about probably because she had no business telling me that and the manager who was in her office at the time that she went back and forth with couldn't be bothered to come out and do her job. I once again asked to be transferred to the manager and again I got no response back. I have also been notified by disability that they sent paperwork over a month and a half ago and are waiting for this specific practice to get the information they requested back and have not heard from them yet which is no surprise. Again I left Deborah a message and got no response back. Why is Deborah the manager here what the heck does she do? She point blank sucks at her job its going to stink when I get legal help in regards to my complaints and mistreatment by this practice. The employees here are ignorant and incompetent. 4 windows that are for different providers at each and for some reason only one is usually open with its shade up I have stood in line waiting to get checked in or out and all of a sudden the shade gets pulled down and they point to the next window where there is an even longer line. All they do is talk to each other about personal stuff or patients, laugh, and eat. I thought this practice was for their patience shouldn't you finish the people u have in your line before closing the shade on their face. Just a bunch of rude ignorant people I could do all of their jobs as 1 freaking person maybe they should stop stuffing their faces and actually DO their jobs.

This doctors office is the worst I've ever seen. The office "help" are different every time I have an appointment. If I leave a message it never makes it to the Dr or maybe he ignores them. After 9 years of dealing with this, I am finally looking for a new doctor. I don't need a lot of time for my appointment because all he does is ask me how I'm doing and write me a script, so I've been putting up with it, but the one time I was 6-7 minutes late for an appointment after calling ahead and letting them know I was running late they socked me with a $50 "No Show" fee. Most of my appointments I have to wait 45 minutes to an hour if I am on time. It's been almost 4 weeks and still no one has gotten back to me with a new appointment date. This guy is disinterested and is phoning it in.

Too many certificates hanging on his walls. Too little people skills. I have walked out of every session more anxious than when I walked in. He continues to schedule me for times that don't fit my schedule although I have asked repeatedly for a consistent time. As a result of the difficulty in scheduling, he has turned me away twice for being 10 minutes late (despite my leaving work 1 hour early), costing $50 each time. Most recently, he didn't even acknowledge my presence when he saw me at the reception desk. When we disagreed about my treatment (I want to come off of my medications, he wanted to increase them), he offered to arrange a second opinion. I eagerly agreed and he never followed through. If you suffer from anxiety, I strongly discourage you from being treated by Dr. Winfield.

Compassionate - practical - respectful of his patients. Dr. Winfield is what all medical providers should be.

I have been a patient in this practice for several years. As I became more and more depressed, it seems like interest was lost in my problem. I have my visit and then rescheduled for an appointment in another 6 weeks. I have had to cancel appointments due to lack of funds since I am unemployed and my co-payments are high. Since the doctor schedules his own appointments sometimes you wait a week or longer to reschedule. He runs on time, visit lasts 10-15 minutes. Over the past few months my depression is getting worse and I really dont think he knows how to handle it. After one appointment I had with him, he seemed so disgusted with me he gave me this look of absolute disgust as he walked into my councelors office. There is a constant turn over of staff, they are abrupt and dont know how to do bookkeeping to save their souls. I had a credit on my account without telling me, and there were so many times I had to cancel due to not having money to pay. I told my councelor that I had a… credit right along and mentioned having to cancel from time to time and she said oh well. If anyone else has had such an experience or similar you should really post your comments. It may help others in deciding to go to this organization.
