I've had Dr. Yap for eight years now directing me for my prostate cancer. After my biopsy in 2015 he set me up for radiation treatments witch took my readings from 8.7 to 0.12 psa readings after 8 years of time. As far as I'm concerned he saved my life for now. Thank You Dr. Yap!

I miss you Bones. I was a travel nurse and had to have emergency intervention for a kidney stone. Luckily he was the Doc on that night. He was kind, gentle, exceptional in technique, supportive and just plain great. I wish I could have taken you with me. Im over in the Adirondacks now and just visited the Star Trek Museum. While getting through to the office is daunting, once you are a patient of Dr Yap you will get excellent care. After two procedures, I can attest to the quality of care and concern I received from Dr Yap. Even during COVID restrictions he involved my wife in the decision making by phone. Dr Yap is skilled, engaged and made my feel valued as a patient.

Dr. Yap is the most intelligent and caring physician I have ever encountered in my 70+ years of receiving health care. Just an excellent Urologist and I am very fortunate to have him my provider. He earns and deserves my highest recommendation.

I am 70 years old and have been a patient of Dr. Ronald Yap for over a decade. During that time, he expressed concern for, and constantly monitored, my Prostate (enlarged), PSA levels (high) and bladder retention (never fully emptying). On numerous occasions he explained my options to possibly lower these levels, from medication to surgery, with no positive guarantee on the outcome. I was reluctant (nervous/scared) to go the surgery route, so I remained on medication for several years which did little to help my case. During that time, Dr. Yap was very professional and considerate, offering advice and suggestions, but not being “pushy” and said he would do whatever I wanted. When I saw that my condition was not getting any better (and actually appeared to be getting worse) I once again asked Dr. Yap to explain my options, (which he did) and also told me the possibility of kidney failure in the future. On his suggestion (after much research and reading several reviews on line), I… considered the various options I had and finally decided to undergo the “GreenLight” Laser Therapy operation for “Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia” and Dr. Yap would perform this procedure. Before, during and after the procedure, Dr. Yap and his staff were very thorough, taking the time to ensure I knew what to expect, guiding me and answering any questions, which helped relieve any possible anxiety or fears I may have had. The operation was a great success, the recovery period was not that long and I noticed positive results in a short time (stronger urine flow, less trips to the bathroom, PSA levels down as well as bladder retention). Overall, a year later and I am glad I decided to undergo the procedure and very happy that Dr. Yap was my doctor. He is professional, friendly, understanding, compassionate, extremely knowledgeable in his field of expertise, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone who may be concerned about prostate issues.

Dr. Yap is excellent. He is extremely thorough and direct in his communication. He demonstrates a high level of knowledge while conveying information necessary for making decisions as a patient. I have every confidence in his capabilities.

Instantly liked this physician. He explained my condition to me, and offered up treatment options, allowing me to choose which one was best for me. He treated me like an intelligent participant in the decision making process.
