Dr. Ronjon Banerjee, MD

Dr. Banerjee treats you like a concerned family member that makes it easy to relate to him. I was a very troubled teen. Thanks to him I am so much better.

Dr. Banerjee treats me with care and empathy and really tries to know me and the source of my problem. I am very comfortable with him and am much better as a result.

Dr banerjee hits on patients, sneaks around with them, and if you’re not willing to sleep around with him or gently massage his egotistical napoleon complex like a desperate groupie, you won’t receive good care. Wear something bright red and low cut and then maybe you’ll get your problems fixed.

I’m sure he means well and he pretends to care but I found him immature and inexperienced as a doctor. He put me on a medication that made me gain forty lbs and was unwilling to explore changes even as I got increasingly more lethargic and unable to concentrate. I ended up with severe skin issues. His jokes aren’t funny and his entire attitude is dismissive. Disappointing.

I see Dr. Banerjee at Mount Sinai for ECT (to treat treatment-resistant depression). Like the other psychiatrists in the ECT department, he’s been nothing but considerate. He doesn’t talk down to you like many doctors do nor is he patronizing which is a refreshing change of pace, especially coming from someone with a lot of medical trauma. It’s really nice to be validated, listened to, and treated like an equal human being. Too many doctors treat mentally ill &/or disabled patients like we’re less than and it’s incredibly demoralizing. But Dr. Banerjee actually takes the time to really listen and involves you in the process of your treatment instead of just telling you what it’s going to be like after the decision has already been made. If you have treatment-resistant depression or otherwise need ECT treatment Dr. Banerjee, like the others in department, are great!
