Dr. Pollard has a one size fits all attitude toward treating his patients. If the antidepressant he put you on (he has favorites the same for all), he just tells you to raise the dosage. He had no compassion or genuine interest in your concerns. Your Fifteen minutes was strictly enforced. I have adult ADD. I reluctantly agreed to try a stimulant medication for it, Adderall. He started me at a high dose and just kept raising the dose when I complained of increased restlessness and headaches. After 3 months I was taking 30mg three times a day, a huge amount. (And I weigh 115). I was concerned with the fear of addiction but he told me amphetamines weren't addictive. I knew thus to be totally untrue-if i missed even one day of my pills i couldn't get out of bed as D was miserable and depressed and anxious all day. Finally i told him I wanted to stop it but that I was worried about the withdrawal effects. Get this answer : "You shouldn't have any withdrawal effects." I had been taking a too… high dose for months of a plain old fashioned amphetamine, speed. But when the problems presented themselves, he washed his hands of my crisis sutuation. He didn't suggest tapering, just "you won't have any withdrawal symptoms." Then he stood up and looked at the door. He has opened about five clinics in this area in the last few years. Then he moves on and opens another one. I think his primary interest is money, not caregiving.
