The fertility treatment went wrong and I ended up with ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). I spent 19 days in the hospital. The doctor visited me only twice, just the two times she practiced me a culdocentesis. She called me once when I got home from the first 10-day hospitalization. I did not received enough orientation about the whole fertility process. When the first signs of hyperstimulation showed the doctor did not tell me all the risks of continuing the cycle. Her nurse just instructed me about the costs and the options of artificial insemmination, in-vitro, etcetera. The doctor did not even take control of the fertilization process. I got pregnant and the OHSS turned severe. After 11 weeks of gestation I went to her office and she noticed something wrong with the baby but she wasn't clear and didn't referred me to the hospital. She ordered a blood test and a doppler. Because it wasn't "urgent" I went for the doppler two days later and the results came two more days after… that, showing a fetal demise. I don't want to see that doctor again in my life. If anyone wants to stay with her, just make sure to ask about everything and get the most accurate information and orientation; specially if it is the first time (like me) that you try this fertility journey.
