Dr. Rosalia Burke Burke, MD

Dr. Burke has always been helpful regarding my allergies in the spring here in Texas and has made some recommendations concerning my nasal anatomy and things that might be helpful in the future. She’s been our family’s ENT for years and is excellent at what she does.

Recently had an appointment with Dr Burke, she was my last hope to resolve my coughing issues. She came in asked a few questions, left did not say a word. Came back about 10 minutes later sprayed a numbing agent in my nose and came back a little later (I understand that). Did the scope and basically said some doesn’t look right. Gave a brief description, I really felt like she could have stayed with us so we could talk more, I felt like she wanted to hurry up and get out of the room. She said she wanted to put me on meds as of today they have not been called! I was told she was best and had high hopes. Did not like her manners, especially walking out the room and don’t say a word. I know everyone has bad days, I wasn’t feeling well and really felt like my time and money was not used wisely! So sad, I know she is a good Dr but I did not have a good experience with her!!

I have experienced hearing loss in one ear and headaches so I had a hearing test at my physician’s office and she referred me to Dr. Burke. All doctors are difficult to make appointments with nowadays because of COVID. But once I got in, the staff was efficient and professional. Megan did a very thorough hearing test before I saw the doctor. Then Dr. Burke examined me and asked lots of questions and was very calming and courteous. She recommended an MRI and even told me of a location that performs them on Saturdays so I don’t have to miss work. I’m very glad that my doctor referred me to Dr. Burke. I think she is wonderful!

My appointment with Dr. Burke was was a COMPLETE DISASTER from the word go! She spent my entire appointment time arguing with me about the Covid vaccine. First question to me from her was have I had the vaccine. It went down hill from there. I listened to a lecture from her about her qualifications, what she studied, and the schools she attended, all the while telling me how great she was. She was very argumentative. I politely asked her twice that we don’t discuss the vaccine, which fell on deaf ears. She hardly addressed what I came in for, and spent the whole time telling me about her credentials and the schools she attended. Never have I had a doctor speak to me like that. I’m sorry I didn’t just walk out.

I went to this Dr. for hearing and nasal problems. I waiting in the examination from for 30 min. She came in for less than 5 minutes. Then left without telling me she was leaving. Then came back for 5 minutes. Then left again. The whole time I’m just sitting there wondering if she’s ever coming back... I had so many questions for her, I thought she was going to come back the last time and she never did. The nurse just came in and said “ok we have your surgery scheduled”. She didn’t even talk to me about any other options. I am also a doctor, though not an ENT like Dr. Burke, but I feel like as a doctor you should spend more time and care with your patients.

We did not have any success with Dr Burke. My husband lost his hearing in one ear and she could not diagnose our problem. She also did not give us any alternative options just a hearing aid, sorry! It seemed like she was always in a hurry and could not wait to leave. We are looking for a second option. We spent a ton of money for nothing with her. We felt she did not care enough to help us.

I had an MRI performed by a different doctor (not an ENT) and it was discovered that I had a cyst. I got an opinion of an ENT about the cyst and he told me “it’s nothing, don’t worry about it.” 9 months later I had the same MRI done again because my pain was still excruciating and the cyst was found again, this time had nearly doubled in side so I went to see Dr. Burke. She was caring and answered any and all questions about it. I wasn’t ready for surgery and she told me there wasn’t any reason it had to be removed at that time. A few months later I came back for a follow up on the cyst and also had a lot of ear pain. She spent time with me and did diagnostic tests and imaging to see if there was physical reason for the ear pain. As it turns out, the cyst was contributing to grow and at this point was affecting my ability to breath properly so we made the decision to do surgery. I have a degree as a Certified Surgical Technologist and I can smell a fake from a mile away. Dr. Burke is… the real deal. She has a fantastic bedside manner, answers questions, genuinely cares about her patients, and is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. The wait time is frustrating, there’s no denying that, but if you have the time to wait to see her you won’t be disappointed!

Dr. Burke was very rude and impatient. She came in the room and immediately began telling me everything that was "wrong" with me. She acted put off when I had questions about my hearing loss (she was the first person to tell me I had "significant hearing loss", so at age 31 it was news to me), and what she diagnosed as "an extremely deviated septum" that needed surgery immediately. I received a second opinion from two highly regarded ENTs in Houston and both concluded that my septum had a slight deviation, and not to worry about it. She literally came in to the room, told me nothing but bad news, refused to answer questions, and then left the room without saying a word. I would not recommend this doctor.

This is the first review I have ever written on a doctor but felt compelled to write on Dr. Burke. I saw her a year ago for hearing loss. At that time I was given a diagnosis. I researched her diagnosis and I displayed none of the symptoms so I scheduled a follow-up a couple of months later. She dismissive of anything I had to say and was arrogant and rude when I asked if there might be another reason for my problem. I decided to see another doctor and my there was indeed a simple solution to my hearing issue. Please be forewarned about this doctor. Not only is she condescending and arrogant, she was wrong in her diagnosis.
