Dr. Rose Diakos, MD

I came in to see her about in issue I was having, and before I could tell her everything she cut me off. She didn't let me finish. I tried to continue anyway, and she spent five seconds in the room with me, and I left just as concerned as when I came in. She didn't listen to my concerns. Highly disappointed.

I am writing this review for my fiancé because in simple words she abandoned my fiancé and I. I am giving her two stars because leading up to the OB checkups, she was friendly. Up to the date of delivery Dr. Diakos promised she would be at Community Hospital to comfort us new parents. The day of delivery came and my fiancé started to have complications, I asked the nurses to call Dr. Diakos because she was in my the hospital due to her being on call. The nurses said she kept saying she would “be here soon”. Dr. Diakos never showed up not even to say hi or explain what was going on. At this point my fiancé had to have a C-section and we were introduced to the surgical team which were amazing. Dr. Diakos literally abandoned us, no apology or nothing. As a nurse in the operating room I would never let my doctors treat a patient like this especially first time parents. Shame on you Dr. Diakos.

Dr Rose was fine when all I needed were annual exams. As soon as I got pregnant and wound up miscarrying, she had no time for me, gave me poor advice and even misdiagnosed me as having a thyroid problem. I quickly switched practices and the difference is night and day. I can't believe I wasted years on this doctor. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.

I LOVE Dr. Diakos. I have been going to her for over 12 years, however, what is up with the receptionist? She NEVER answers the phones and she NEVER return any phone calls. She shows up late alllll the time. Once you are there, she is more into not getting her long talons broken. No smile... nothing. I know of a handful of people (including a tot) who could do a way better job of greeting people and answering the phone. It is not a hard job. Also, it would help (when she finally does answer the phone) to please address the patients as their birth name and not by "hon". The mannerism of addressing the patients by "hon" is too informal and back of the woods, picking corn type. Very, very unprofessional woman.

My experience with this doctor was terrible. I had been going here for annual visits which were very brief but fine. I continued to go when I found out I was pregnant. I ended up having a miscarriage and was shocked by how cold and disrespectful she was to me. I was crying when she told my husband and I that the baby was gone and she told me I was "overreacting". She said to just get over it and that it wasn't that big of a deal since I wasn't that far along. She was impossible to get ahold of on the phone and when I finally did get to speak with her she told me to "stop complaining" while I was sitting there terrified as I was bleeding. Needless to say, I will never be returning to this practice and would never wish this type of uncaring prenatal care on anyone.

I have been going to Dr. Rose Diakos for years. She has been great, taking time with me, answering all my questions, etc. One procedure wasn't easy but she helped me through it. I referred a friend who was having major problems and she helped her as well. Also for years I waited 45 minutes or more for my appointment because of people who were late which she continued to see. Then several years ago she changed her policy, if you are not on time you need to reschedule. I no longer wait more than 5 to 10 minutes now, if that. It is a fair policy for those who show up on time. Why should I have to pay the price for people who come in late and then expect to get my time while I sit and wait for them? I am glad she did this. If the doctor is not a good fit for you, move on and try someone else. This is true of surgeons, Obgyn's, primary cares, etc. Doctors are human just like their patients and not gods.

I do not make a big deal if I am unhappy with the intergrity and talent of the doctor, I just get my records and switch to a new one. When I quietly inquired about obtaining my records the awful staff attempted to impose a extravegant fee (clearly violating HIPPA standards), and was inappropriately rude to me. They stated that this happens all the time, indicating to me that they are very used to unhappy patients.

Dr. Rose is an excellent physician. She respected my personal choices when she delivered my daughter, is very professional and GENTILE when performing annual exams, and also quite friendly, as is the rest of her team at Lakeshore Womens Health Specialists.

Despite the fact that I had the same symptoms for 4 years (irregular timing and bleeding and incredibly painful periods, frequent need to urinate and abdominal and pelvic pain outside of my cycles) and was in Dr. Rose Diakos' care that entire time, she failed to diagnose my polycystic ovarian syndrome and my need for an open myomectomy (basically a C-section) which by the time I diagnosed myself and insisted upon an ultrasound the largest of my numerous fibroid tumors was over 8.5cm in diameter (an infant's head is 10cm!). Had I been diagnosed earlier I would not have had to have major surgery nor needlessly lived through years of pain.
