I had a follow up appointment from the hospital. Schedueled by The hospital! The office stuff put me into the wait line after I told the girl we have an app. A wait of 18pple @8 am!.....I decided not to wait so after a few minutes I got up to reschedule. Turns out I did have an appointment (to her big surprise) she might of just been cross eyed, who knows. So she gave me some papers to sign. I did not want to sign the privacy statement as they share private medical info with others. Due to my son's medical history I was rejected medical care.

The overall grade is skewed because Dr. Tapangan and his staff are at complete opposite ends of what I experienced. After arriving only several minutes late, the first words spoken to me from the front desk was that I had to pay $80 because I had a sick child (when my child is completely healthy and well). I scheduled a well child visit and I already contacted my insurance multiple times to confirm that it would be 100% covered. The staff member disregarding my confirmation of insurance then had me wait over an hour because I was late and then tried to justify it by attempting to prove me wrong (which wasn't the case as it was fully covered). The medical assistant was very unprofessional and lax with the measurements for weight, height, and head circumference. The nurse was very rude as well, making negative remarks throughout our visit. The saving grace was Dr. Tapangan. I really do not understand the disconnect between the staff and the doctor. I know I am not the… first to experience this but I will no longer visit the office because families seeking care should never have to go through a gauntlet of bitter resentful people. If you can avoid going through the initial stage of horrendous patient service, then by all means, visit Dr. Tapangan.

The amazing staff of Dr. R Tapangan is outstanding. Very courteous, understanding and helpful. They go above and beyond for the patients. Dr. Tapangan is a very kind and efficient doctor. I have taken all 3 of my children to him since 1999 when he was with The Childrens Clinic. Thank you

I started taking my son to Dr. Tapangan after waiting hours at another clinic and having to deal with a doctor who treated me and my son as just another number. Dr. Tapangan is always kind, approachable, and patient. He has ALWAYS treated my kids with respect. The wait is definitely long which is to be expected when word gets around that there's a doctor who is good like Dr. Tapangan.

Dr. Tapangan takes time with his patients and parents to discuss any concerns. He makes it an easy and comfortable atmosphere. I was impressed with the genuine manner in which he held my babies when they went for their immunizations. I always recommend Dr. Tapangan to all my friends and family. He is truly outstanding.

I have four children and they all love Dr. Topangan. I started taking them there since 2005 when I only had my two boys, and my other two since they were newborns. The wait is a bit long (2hrs) but definitely worth it. When the doctor comes in, he always has a smile on his face with a calm voice as he speaks with my kids. My daughter does tend to yell and cry as he checks her..but what two yr old doesn't. He's quick and straight to the point as he diagnoses them. Very knowledgeable of his work! :) Awesome doctor!! I highly recommend him!! :) Oh and if u have a problem waiting then call in advance for an appointment. On slow days you'll be out of there in 30 min tops and busy days 1 hr...without an appointment 2hrs.

After taking my daughter to another doctor in Brownsville, I was not happy, I went to Tapangan on a friends recommendation and loved it. Take both my kids there, and he answered an after hours call less than 20 minutes after calling the answering service.

Wait is sometimes too long but happy with the care... Recommend to friends...nappy with service even when very packed with patients...
