Dr. Ross Michael Decter, MD

Back in the early 2000's Dr. Decter did a rebuilding of my uretha and we are now approaching 2020 and everything has been fine ever since. I went in for my routine check ups early on and since moved out of the area and have never been back. He is a great doctor and really cared. I give him the maximum rating someone could give. We spent 2 years with Dr. Decter overseeing the care of our child. He may have felt he was giving our child the best outcome possible with the surgeries preformed but we were rushed into making a decision that has forever impacted our child quality of life. After we were released from care we got revised test results that our child has Partial Androgen insensitivity Syndrome. When going back to Hershey for help we initially got nothing from them. They sent us on are way and did not even acknowledge the Red flags that were present. We only saw then after the fact with research . Prior to one surgery we were to administer testosterone to assist with growth . Mid surgery Dr. Decter reprimanded us for not having the shots administered. We did exactly as told . RED flag our child does not process testosterone ( learned post all surgeries) and had these surgeries not been rushed our daughter would have had a say in having this damaging surgery preformed on her. This has haunted us for… the last 9 years and I fear for other babies being rushed into these surgeries without full understanding of the possibilities and impact.

I took my son to see Dr Decter and was very upset with his lack of time with us and his lack of professionalism. We were told before our appt that he would see us. We get there and the physician asst. did everything and Dr Decter came in for less than 5 min and said my son is going through puberty and will out grow this burning every time he goes to the bathroom. After that appt I still scheduled another appt. but the next appt I didn't even see him, it was again the physician asst. I left Hershey very upset!! Til it was all said and over, my son went to duPont hospital where he had major surgery called urethral stricture. So at the lack if professionalism that was given to us, it was a god sent cause we are going to the best place now at duPont and have the best Dr. there!!

Dr. Decter operated on my newborn son who was born with the congenital birthdefect called bladder exstrophy. Decter was amazing! Not only did he fix the problem, he was so caring about my son and us. He sat with us and went over in detail exactly what was going to happen. He made us, the parents, feel like my son was the only child he had to operate on. He is a God's gift from Heaven! Thank you, Lord!!!

Went through five physicians before I FINALLY found Dr. Decter who quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem and performed her surgery. Highly recommend him.
