Dr. Ross Barton Rodgers, MD

Went to La Jolla Scripps ER several times and saw this Dr. the first and the last time that I went. Was dismissed with just meds. Needed and urgent MRI and the Dr. said I would need to pay too much money out of pocket (my insurance said it would have been covered 100 percent) if he would have ordered it to be done at the ER right then. Ten days with the severe conditions which probably made it worse not receiving the right diagnosis and care. Ended up going to a different ER and within 3 hours I knew that I needed surgery right away! They really made sure to listen to me and not dismiss my symptoms.

Dr. Rodgers saw my 11 year old son in the emergency room tonight and he did not provide the best quality of care to him. Dr. Rodgers asked my son and husband questions and based on my son's answers he decided to not examine him, but to provide a treatment for an infection that he was not sure my son had. Instead of performing an examination he made the decision to just treat my son. I understand treating an infection for "just in case" purposes, but an examination and test should be ran to provide the best of care for your patient. Again my son is 11 yrs old and can explain how he feels and what he saw in his stool, but he is not a doctor. As a doctor who supposedly went to medical school and passed his boards should know better than to just take the word of an 11 yr old without an examination or running test. Asking questions does not determine a diagnosis. If seeing patients very late at night does not warrant the best quality of care from Dr. Rodgers than he should reconsider… emergency care. Your patients deserve your very best care at all times of the day or night! When it comes to children you should always provide top notch care instead of mediocre care!

Went to emergency at Honor Health North with severe abdominal pain. The staff, including Dr. Rodgers, was excellent....Caring, efficient, competent and great bedside manner. One is certainly in good hands with these folks.
