Dr. Ross J Tatum, MD

Dr. Ross prescribed me medication for adhd when I was 8 years old and I spent my entire youth with chemicals of all different varieties messing with my brain. In 9 years he never figured out I was actually autistic and didn’t need to be medicated at all. I’m 27 now. I can’t even begin to describe the pain I feel knowing how different my life would’ve been if I had a psychiatrist who spent more time diagnosing me before medicating me.

In my opinion Dr Tatum may need to be more aware of who and what he is prescribing to. Addicts are manipulative and know what to say and when to say it. He has prescribed controlled substances to a patient who has abused these substances (and others) in the past, and in my belief is currently doing that now. Their behavior since being prescribed these medications has been more in line with their addictive traits than their sober traits. Dr Tatum is not willing to listen to the concerns of other family members or prescribers. It is unfortunate because this person is a very loved and kind person who has slowly excluded themselves from what was a very close knit family and has become more on edge and easily angered. We have all offered help, but the biggest help would be the prescriber not prescribing a medication to a person who has not needed this medication prior to complete tasks, and giving more counseling.

Dr Tatum listens well and gets well rounded information from patient and family. He shares our goal of not being over medicated and adjusts as often as needed. His patient care is excellent!

I trust Dr. Tatum with my life, and he has quite literally saved it. He is so caring and dedicated, I wouldn't be here without him.

We self pay so that we can see Dr. Tatum. He is excellent! His medication management is perfect! I never have concerns about too much medication or the wrong medication for my kids.

I just LOVE Dr. Tatum and his staff. I would not change to another doctor unless, Dr. Tatum closed his practice. He listens, intensely to everything I say to him. He makes me feel like I am his most important patient. He has a lot of compassion and care.

I can't imagine ever going to another psychiatrist. Dr. Tatum is a very honest, ethical and moral man. His sense of humor puts you at ease and I have always felt so comfortable meeting with him. He has always treated me with respect, as well as my child who also sees him. His front office staff is always very pleasant and kind.

Dr. Tatum has seen my son and my daughter for aprox 9 years. He is very professional and caring. His staff is always very friendly and nice. I would recommend Dr.Tatum to anyone.
