Dr. Ross Edward Vogelgesang, MD

In reading the reviews for Dr.Vogelgesang I was shocked about some of the comments. I have been a patient at Alliance Pain Center for several years and yes, sometimes the wait is a bit long but it is at every office I have been to. The difference at Dr Vogelgesang's is that when your with him he is not trying to hurry you up. He listens with understanding ,compassion and is totally focused on my issues. The government does control the amount of certain medications... It is not Dr.Vogelgesang you need to be upset with it's the government. And yes, he does push a type of tough love “ you should exerciser..get out of in front of the TV and off the couch” But its given with my best interest at heart.

A respected surgeon in the area highly recommended Dr. V after my 3rd and 4th surgeries on both knees. Ten years later this doctor has by himself not only improved my knee usage but has had an impact on my over all quality of life. Ross continues to be on the cutting edge of medicine for his patients and always makes sure to give you a action plan that best fits your current situation. As I have aged he has adapted protocols to fit with my changing anatomy that has allowed me to flourish in my fifties. I am not sure the best way to thank him but thought the least I could do would be to share a little of his impact on me with others that may be considering him for there health care needs. Simply he is the best!! MB

Dr V is great....his office staff is so bad. The one guy Jacob hes useless and arrogant. Cares mostly about his muscles (or at least he thinks he has muscles) only nice to the men to discuss slorts and young attractive girls. He should be fired.

I had been referred to Dr. Vogelgesang's office by another professional. My appointment was scheduled very far out, so I had to wait quite a long time while in a great amount of pain. I had been emailed the new patient paperwork, had copied the forms off, and had them completed and ready to bring with me to my appointment. Two days before my appointment, I received a reminder call that I was scheduled to be seen. The person calling me with the reminder - who claimed to be the office manager and only appointment scheduler (I later found out he is NOT the office manager and certainly not the only scheduler) - also mentioned they did not have my paperwork back yet. I told him I didn't realize I needed to return it prior to my appointment; no one had informed me of this policy. He told me I was lying, that he is the only one who schedules, and he tells everyone this information when they are set up with an appointment. I again told him, no, I had not been informed of this, or I… would have gotten this paperwork back to them, as I had had it filled out for almost a month, waiting to bring it in with me for my appointment. He then told me, "Well, I'm just cancelling your appointment, and we'll send you a bill since really, YOU are the one cancelling by not submmitting your paperwork in advance. You can go back to your insurance and figure it out from there, but you're not welcome in this office, you're too argumentative." I desperately tried to explain I needed this appointment, I've been in pain for a very long time, and I would not have deliberately withheld the paperwork, had anyone told me to turn it in ahead of time - but with his yelling at me about how he was cancelling me and I would not be welcome in their office, I couldn't even get anything said, so I couldn't very well be so argumentative. I finally hung up in frustration, since he wouldn't even allow me to speak. I called back and spoke with Dr. Vogelgesang's medical assistant, explained what happened, was promised she would discuss the situation with the guy who had called me, and she would contact me back. My husband ended up calling later, and was informed that their "whole office" decided I was not a good fit, and they would not see me in that office...I would have to seek out a different doctor. All because of human error, because someone failed to inform me to turn my paperwork in prior to my appointment... Completely insensitive and unprofessional. I'm actually grateful I won't be going to this facility.

waste of time, the receptionist told me as I handed in paper work that I'll get only 3 pills a day ?????? I did not even say hello....not a word to him....he looked over my paper work and said 3 pills a day....what in the world was that all about. When doctor came in the room he spouted out " look at you , you need to get back to the gym and keep working out...I'm a little big so I guess he figures I still sling weights....I have been disabled with a spine disease for 8 yrs.I guess he forgot to look..... he said to get back to gym and a little massage and call me tomorrow. I have been on high doses of pain meds and my doc retired so I had to continue at the pain clinic. I never went back for any other appts. very sad for the folks that are going to need the help.

Dr. Vogelgesang will make you sit through a three hour ($500. +) initial appointment and then tell you he won't treat your pain with narcotics (even thought you've been taking them for a number of years) because he read a report that said narcotics are contraindicated for Fibromyalgia.

Doc V, is the most compassionate Doctor I have ever seen in any field. He not only does his very best to help you with your pain, but is a wonderful person that I actually look forward to seeing each month. He is strict with pain medications which in my opinion is the only way to practice pain management. The new CDC rules have tied all doctors hands to truly control your pain, but in the 9 years I have been a patient of his I have had the best possible care. He has no problem working with you to get to the root of your pain issue, and has actually helped me far more than my regular GP. I would love to be able to have him as our family Doctor, but feel blessed to have him in my life to treat my vast pain issues. Just follow the simple rules and you will love being a patient in his care. You will never feel rushed out the door like most other doctors, he actually takes the time to ask you how your life is going and truly cares. He is a true professional in every sense of the word.
