Dr. Roxana Gabriela Ionas, MD

I was once a patient of hers, not a parent but as a child. When my tonsils were swollen to size 4 and 5 on the scale, I had a lot of pain. My mother took me to Dr. Ionas several different times but to no avail. No matter what she saw or heard, she refused to get down to the actual problem, constantly dancing around it. Finally, my mother took me back to the pediatrics and we saw someone else. It took them less than 5 minutes to check my tonsils and throat and prescribe me a medicine. She told me to come back if it didn't get better and that, if I did come back, she'd refer me to get my tonsils out. That's what I ended up having done. Instead of getting them out earlier, skipping all that pain, and getting well sooner, I had to go through all that with Dr. Ionas before anyone got to the root of the problem.

I struggled to find a good pediatrician for my daughter until I found Dr. Ionas. Me being a first time mom I constantly think something wrong, and Ionas goes above and beyond to give me somebody peace of mind. She explains things very clearly and is very kind. And you can tell she genuinely cares about your child’s well being, which I hadn’t found in any of the past pediatricians I seen! I will recommend her to ANY parent who’s on the lookout for a pediatrician.

Dr Ionas took care of our baby and took the time to talk to us and answer questions. Those bad reviews probably are from know it all Googler parents who come in telling the staff what needs to done and how. The 20 minutes online way out weighs the years of schooling and training... Not

We would choose Dr. Iona for our child . She was very smart . Also, answer all we need to know. We had her for over seven years. I was disagree with one person had a trouble with their owne child and then blame the doctor.

Dr lonas does not listen well to the parent about the problems or issues concerning the patient. As a parent you know your child better than anyone else. As a parent of the patient you can tell or explain the same issues or problems more than one time and Dr Ionas still does not listen to the parent of the patient. Dr Ionas does not understand the seriousness of some situations no matter how much you stress the seriousness. Dr Ionas does not spend an adequate amount time with the patient. Overall Dr Ionas needs to improve her skills in more than one area.

Dr Ionas is a fantastic physician who takes the time to find out what is going on in your child's life, beyond any physical ailments. She is concerned with disease prevention, and health promotion. I am completely comfortable that my daughter is receiving the BEST care when we see her. Her staff is wonderful, and everyone in the office is kind and caring.

She is a little agressive in her opinions at times, but she does make an effort to understand what the parents are saying, & she does listen..She was generally very patient with our kids despite them being very rambunctuous during the visit..She was generally fairly encouraging & I liked that she will not push an issue if we did not feel comfortable with it..(At least it came down to that.) She also will take the most obvious route in treating the child, and overdue treatment..
