Dr. Lowenguth is originally from Albany, New York. She received her BS in biology from Siena College in Loudonville, New York in 1982. Following graduation from Siena College, she attended SUNY at Buffalo’s School of Dental Medicine from 1982-86.
During dental school, she was actively involved in scientific research in the Department of Oral Biology and was awarded an Oral Biology Fellowship, an academic achievement award from the American Association of Women's Dentists, and achieved the Dean’s list.

Dr. Lowenguth has practiced Periodontics and Implant Surgery in Rochester since 1989, and is married to Mark Lowenguth, D.D.S. They have one daughter. Dr. Lowenguth enjoys cycling, skiing, travel and spending time with her family..
