Dr. Roy Alex Brandell, MD

Dr. Brandell advised against surgery for a problem I was having fifteen years ago. I sought second opinions from two other doctors, one of whom recommended the surgery. I had the surgery, not because I thought Dr. Brandell was 'wrong', but because it's a judgement call, and different doctors will have different opinions. I had no qualms about returning to him five years later for a bladder control problem. Upon my arrival, he immediately told me he wouldn't treat me because I had gone to another doctor to get the surgery he had advised against five years earlier. He should have cancelled the appointment ahead of time if he felt that way about it. Instead, he let me take time out of my day and drive to his office, just to tell me I should go to a doctor whose opinion I respect. His arrogance was astounding. No exam, no consultation -- his nurse didn't even take my temperature. I was there less than five minutes . . . AND he billed me the full amount for an appointment!
