After lying to me about issues I was having, I will never walk into that office again. Left me with a condition requiring medication. Didn't help me. Find another doctor. One with a clean office too!

I think he is an excellent doctor, his care and concern probably saved my life two years ago. He continues to offer excellent care to me and to my friends that are now going to him.

Dr. Gernhardt is an excellent doctor. He takes the time with his patients and is compassionate. He approaches you in a matter-of-fact way and explains things to you in ways and words you can understand. I can't say enough good about him. I can only say thanks....finally a doctor I can trust!!

I saw Dr Gernhardt out on a whim starting in 2008. I just moved out of PA and I am having a HORRIFIC time finding a new primary that is even half the doctor.His first words to me were "I treat people not insurance companies, I really don't care what they think. Lets fix whats wrong!" I am one of those super medically needy patients. I can function, but not without major problems physically and I get horribly sick frequently.Although the office staff was a little cold (I hate paperwork too.. I've done billing and worked for doctors.. but try to smile!) he spent all the time needed with me and always broke it down into simple terms if I didn't understand something.He more than once went to bat against my insurance company for me, and my insurance company was HORRIBLE! (seriously. .HORRIBLE!)The wait time might be a little long, but he always spends the time needed to make sure you get EVERYTHING you need.He also, which I find to be a VERY important quality in a physician, was able to… admit what was beyond his scope and practice and refer me to an appropriate practitioner.If I ever come back to Wilkes Barre and he is still there, I will return, whether he accepts my insurance or not!

I've been seeing him almost since he started and he's great. Personable, honest, and caring. His staff seems to be testy at times, but they are always there to help and answer any questions and not make you feel embarrassed. I'm glad I found him as a doctor.
