Meet Dr. Lusch
Dr. Roy Lusch received his dental degree from University of the Pacific in San Francisco in 1986. He has practiced dentistry in Portland since then. Dr. Lusch was a member of the Richard V. Tucker study club from 1987 to 2005, where he gained special expertise in the preparation and placement of cast gold restorations.
Dr. Lusch has completed the advanced esthetics study group offered by John A. Sorensen, DMD, PhD at Oregon Health Sciences University. He has also completed The Concept of Complete Dentistry, I and II curriculum taught by Peter E. Dawson, DDS at the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Lusch also completed Dr. Frank Spears course Occlusion in Clinical Practice.
From June 2000 to June 2002, Dr. Lusch was appointed as adjunct assistant professor of fixed prosthodontics at OHSU and worked on research testing and helping to develop new dental porcelains. Dr. Lusch published an article in a peer reviewed journal: PPAD …Nov/Dec 2002, “Correcting Disclusion Utilizing Pressed Ceramic Restorations.†He has also lectured locally on cosmetic dentistry and occlusion.
From these advanced continuing education courses and study clubs, Dr. Lusch has acquired the knowledge and special skills he applies in his practice every day. Dr. Lusch believes in treating his patients as if the were his family members. He doesn’t cut corners or do procedures the fastest, easiest way. He believes in performing procedures so that the patient gets the very best result possible.
Dr. Lusch thoroughly enjoys his staff, which he credits with fostering a professional, caring and fun atmosphere in the office. He is also passionate about helping patients improve the quality of their lives.
Dr. Lusch enjoys spending time with his family when he is away from his practice. He is also an avid skier and enjoys working out and reading a wide variety of books. The profession of dentistry runs in Dr. Lusch’s family. His father practiced dentistry in Portland for 37 years and he has an uncle named Bengt Lusch in Sweden who still practices dentistry.
