Dr. Roy Phitayakorn, MD

I had thyroid surgery with Dr. Phitayakorn just over two weeks ago. I had several Telehealth and phone visits before and after the surgery. On the day of surgery, he comes to talk to you before and after the surgery and asks how you're doing. He is the nicest man, and after just a little over two weeks post-surgery, you can hardly see my scar at all! He is a very skilled surgeon and a very caring individual. He gives his patients his cellphone number and tells them to call anytime if they are having any problems. And if you text him, he calls back almost immediately, even on a weekend!! I would definitely recommend him. AAAAAAAAA (I tried to put plus marks, instead of having to write multiple As, but this site wouldn't accept them.)

Without question - the best surgeon I have ever worked with. Dr. P went above and beyond with my case, which was rather complicated. He was caring, answered my questions and made sure I had the best possible result. His assistant Gloria is phenomenal and responds quickly. Would give 10 stars if I could.

I met Dr.Phitayakorn eight years ago for fibrolipoma surgery. My lucky day for sure. I live overseas most of the year. In need of umbilical hernia surgery, I reached out to Dr.Phitayakorn, flew back to the states, met with him and scheduled the surgery. All went well last week as I expected. The doctor and his team are the best. I find Dr. Phitayakorn to be a caring person, a skilled surgeon and no doubt a role model to many at MGH.

I had a fabulous experience recently with Dr Phitayakorn. He removed a (potato sized) tumor from my abdomen The procedure went perfectly. His communication and bedside manner are fantastic. He took the time on multiple occasions to call me in the evening to discuss everything, pre and post surgery. This has been the best surgical/doctor experience I’ve ever had and I highly recommend him to others. Also, very cool green rimmed glasses and quite funny how his literature explains proper pronunciation of his name…all signs of a very warm and kind surgeon with a great personality. Dr Phitayakorn puts you at ease prior to surgery, which meant so much to me. My recovery is going quite well thanks to this excellent experience.

Dr. Phitayakorn removed both a lipoma and performed a thyroid lobectomy. He is an EXTREMELY talented surgeon. He is professional, caring, attentive, and knowledgeable. He keeps you informed in a straight forward manner. His follow-up is second to none. His office staff in both Boston (Gloria) and Concord (Kate) are equally top notch. This is who you want to do surgery. Run don't walk to him. Even the nurses at MGH love him.
