Had a freak injury that brought me to Danbury ER. It was determined that I would need surgery asap. Dr.Fukumoto came to see me in my hospital room to discuss. Knowing I had stage 4 cancer, he proceeded to tell me that he would have to take me off of chemo for 3 months before he could do the surgery. I told him I've never been on chemo. He repeated himself, so I reiterated what I had just told him. We went back and forth. Finally, I told him that waiting 3 months when I needed surgery now was dangerous. He then asked me if I wanted him to put me in hospice care. I never met the guy before. He never spoke to my oncologist and if I were to go into hospice, don't you think I would want to talk this over with my family? Finally found a surgeon elsewhere who had no problem doing my surgery right away. A year later, no hospice and still no chemo. This guy was ready to just let me die.I swear he got his medical degree from the University of Phoenix.
