Dr. Ruben James Lopez, MD

We love Dr.Lopez,and the nursing staff but the receptionists have been awful the last few years! We have been going to Dr. Lopez for 22 years! He is great, funny, and adds lots of extra information during our visits! Very helpful and knowledgeable ! The Roberts Family

Awful. Do not take your kids to this Doctor. He is rude and so is his staff!

I wish there were all zeros to give this so called "pediatrician". He clearly has no idea what HIPA is. Besides him personally giving out information about you to other patients, he has misdiagnosed my child more then once. Never gave my child a proper exam to try and diagnose what my child actually had. Basically told me to go to the ER. Called numerous times, no one calls you back. His staff is also rude, and unhelpful. He did NOT care for my child, so I will assure you, he will NOT care about yours either. READ ALL OF HIS REVIEWS!!!

The drs. Employees have always been wonderful - however - 3 times in the last couple of months she has had an ear infection. He didn't want to hear anything about the urgent care. "only good for old people" .However - script he gave her made her VERY sick because it was too strong with her diabetic med. I had to look it up for myself. Moving on

Very high turn around in this office. The had an old staff that had been there for years and they were nice, and very helpful. One by one they all left...must be a good reason for that. I am beginning to see why. The doctor and his wife chased them away. The staff they have now are all rude and do not act like they want to do anything to help you. The lady at the front desk is horrible. My kids hide when its time to check out. She is unfriendly. You need to be friendly to work at a pediatrics office and no body there is friendly. It's like they don't want to work, they act like they don't care. I have a few friends that recommended me to Dr. Lopez and even they agree about that place it is going downhill. It is just like a clinic. Lopez doesn't spend any time at all in the room, he doesn't look my children over, he just says URI and over the counter meds...I agree with the no meds unless needed that's not my problem, my problem is the staff and him. I would not recommend him at all.… Also he has his kids there daily after school, they are loud, argue, undiciplined children, they walk in the room when the doctor is talking to me. It is a very unprofessional office. I have changed my kids to Dr. Ahmed in Port Orange along with my friends that originally recommended him.

Dr. Lopez is a great doctor! I love that he will not tell me what I want to hear but will always tell me the truth. Dr. Lopez never gives my child a medication when it is not needed. My child loves coming to this office, that says a lot!! The nursing/ front desk staff is always helpful- I cannot say enough great things regarding this office! I love it!!

I can see why the wait time in the lobby is under 5 minutes. Dr. Lopez does not spend time with you in the room. The office is nice. We got called back to the room and the nurse was quick and really didn't interact with my child. Just did blood pressure, weight then in the exam room she said the doctor would be right in. He came in look in my daughters ears and said she had a cold. He didn't look in her mouth or even listen to her lungs. She was running a fever when she went in and he just said Motrin/Tylenol and fluid. After a week of the same symptons I went back in and was told the same thing. Frustrated I went elsewhere and the new doctor swabbed her throatmy daughte and my daughter had strep throat. This could have been avoided if he just did a through exam. Just something to think about before choosing this doctor. He came highly recommened to me and I am highly not recommending him to anyone.

I love coming to this office! The staff is very friendly and everyone seems like they truly love what they are doing. My children always ask to go see Dr. Lopez, I could not be happier to have him as our family's pediatrician!!!

I agree with all of the negative comments. He definitely spends 30 seconds with you and makes you feel rushed as if he has more important things to do. When he presents a problem with your child, he doesn't offer helpful ideas or suggestions. He's condescending and makes you feel stupid if you ask a "dumb" question. I am a first time parent and I know I will ask questions that may seem o vinous but there's no need to put me down for it. He's not friendly or caring. If you enjoy tough love then this is the doctor for you otherwise seek someone who will genuinely care for your child's well ring.
