Dr. Rufino Medina Uytingco, MD

This doctor is terrible. He won’t treat cancer patients for their pain. It’s not a shock- he’s affiliated with Emanuel. He’s breaking the law. It’s the law to treat patients for pain.

Overall he's good. If a certain issue needs to be referred, he would easily do so. Never had problems with his staff and they would normally call for results and referrals without you trying to follow up yourself. Dr mostly spends time to go over medical condition and mostly I wasn't being rushed in anything. Compared with my previous Primary Care Doctors, he has the most concern on my medical issues.

Doesn't really pay attention to what you have to say. Some members of his staff are really lousy!

Compassionate, caring doctor. I have waited years to find a doctor that was more concerned with taking the time needed with patients than meeting quotas. I found that with Dr. Uytingco. His staff is caring and friendly. If you don't want to feel like just another number, I suggest trying him.

Even though he is a nice person, he mostly stares into his computer throughout the whole visit. He constantly is typing something so he is not really interested in what you are telling him. He doesn't care of getting to the bottom of your health issues. Beside listening to your hearthbeat he doesn't do anything and jumps to the very first/common conclusion about your health issue and is not trying to find out what is really wrong with you. We've been for 4 years with this doctor and my husbands health just keeps deteriorating. He also tries to wrap it up with you pretty quickly, after a couple of minutes he is ready to leave. Overall I am very disappointed! The other good rating from people might be for doctors personality (he is a kind person) but I am sure they are not about his medical care.
