Dr. Rui Lu, MD

I love this doctor. I have came a long way thanks to him and his staff.

Dr. Lu has treated me for several years. He referred me to an excellent surgeon for parathyroid surgery. When the surgeon got in there, she found a large goiter. When I asked Dr. Lu why that hadn't shown up on the x-rays they made, he said they hadn't x-rayed that area! Well, I got over that. He has been treating me for diabetes and the medicine has been keeping me in check until recently, when my sugar level has gone up. This is a worry to me. He sent me to a dietician there at the hospital who was bossy and overbearing. If I didn't read a lot about diabetes, I wouldn't know anything, for Dr. Lu is a man of few words. I don't know if he doesn't feel comfortable with me, or what. Sometimes I go to his office, sit down, get my blood tested on my finger, and he will just say, "That's it." hen I will say, "But, Doctor, I just got here." I would prefer a doctor who communicates verbally more than he does with me. His office is quite small and crowded. His assistants have… always been pleasant. I have no complaints about them. I just would prefer a doctor who talks more. I know there are more reasons than what I eat that cause the A1C to go up, for example, stress, but he never inquires. Sometimes I think he doesn't like me, although he is always pleasant. He speaks excellent English, so that is not the problem.
