Dr. Rupert Erwin Guia Exconde, MD

I had an appointment with Dr. Exconde after experiencing unknown paresthesia. He did a limited neuro exam and ordered more tests as my signs were vague and he didn’t know what was going on. The appointment went okay but the follow up was the worst I’ve ever been treated by a clinician. After experiencing progressing neuro signs I was told to go the ER as he was too busy to see me. My next appointment to see him (or even talk to him) would have been in 4 months. Once my lab tests came back he wrote notes and had his nurse call back to dictate them. He didn’t even have the courtesy to call me with the test results HE ordered. His nurses told me time and time again that he was too busy to talk to me and he referred me elsewhere in his notes without ACTUALLY sending in a referral to those specialities. I will never see him again due to his follow up and would recommend no one else waste their time. He doesn’t care!

My relationship is "accidental" as he was assigned via ER so I did not have the opportunity to research and choose a neurologist. I've been told by many people I'm very lucky. He is highly regarded by peers. He is attentive, remembers many details of the incident, and my extended family members. He is careful with a diagnosis which i appreciate to prevent "labeling" He and his staff are prompt - he often comes to the waiting room to escort me to the exam room, stops in during procedures, efficient reponse system with staff to my questions, listens. I'd consider him in my search for a respected neurologist.
