Dr. Russ Lloyd Levitan, MD

Avoid this doctor if you can. As a Workmans’ Comp person, he doesn't complete any forms accurately, then blamed me for his errors. He then discharged me from the practice & wouldn't allow me to switch to another Dr in the practice. Avoid this practice at all costs!

I was in excruciating pain for 12 years. I finally went to see Doctor Levitan he tried everything until we finally went to a pain pump. Now I have a non-narcotic drug in my pump that gives me the nerve pain relief that I had waited for s years to get to. He was a godsend for me as I got my life back at that time. I was able to function better cognitively and can be more physical because of it. I even went back to playing golf. When I am honest with him he tried to help me in any way that he can. I owe him my quality of life. Thank you so much Dr. Levitan the world is a better place with you in it.

Dr. Levitan is truly one of the most mean and narcissistic doctors I've ever met. He will be nice at first, but if you will not comply with the expensive injections and procedures he wants to Bill your insurance for, he will morph into a mean bully. His office requires that at every visit, you must complete eight pages of paperwork whether you are in severe pain or not. his staff will not offer to help you with this, and you will even be ashamed by the doctor. Stay away from this awful place. Lags Medical has pain management specialists in the Central coast area. There is somewhere else you can go to get a new pain management doctor!

I have been with Dr Levitan for over 4 yrs. Never waited for more than 40 minutes--my dentist is an hour!!! Especially for all the patients that could lose 100 pounds, they might find the therapy works much better. It is not all up to the doctor--YOU the patient must participate. I never felt pushed to have prodecures or abandoned if I decided I did not want it. The staff is always pleasant. I wonder if we are all going to the same facility?? Maybe an attitude adjustment on the patients part would really improve their experience.

Dr. Levitan is rude and unprofessional. At my first visit HE lied down on the examination table and struck a pose like a centerfold while talking to me. I was in excruciating pain and left ten messages with his SLO office with the office manager. It’s been two months and she has yet to call me back. They never answer their phone. The front office looks like a scene from Hoarders. This is the worst medical practitioner I’ve ever met.

I have been a patient of PMS for many years and have seen several doctors during this time. Dr. Levitan is by far the best one. The wait can sometimes be a little long but he's worth it. My only concern is that it took us a long time to find the right combo for my pain relief so that I can hold down a full time job to support my family and now they are trying to scale all the meds back to almost nothing and I'm scared what this may do to my ability to keep my job. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking real pain relief.

Dr Leviathan is Dr Jekyll now! Just wait til Mr Hyde comes out! Glad we moved away! He doesn't really care about people in general. He has facilities for his super poopers injections which he tries to do as many if not more than what is specified! As long as your insurance company is complacent, he will just LOVE you as a patient! Mr Hyde comes out when he is no longer able to get money from your insurance! Then he drops you like a stone! For the patient with the coma, It wasMr.. Hyde Android crazy Dr Jekyll that through you out! We had to move out of the area because my sister needed a REAL pain Dr for CHRONIC PAIN! Los Angeles county has many choices

Shame on Dr. Levitan for making a dollar off of opioid addicted patients. Terrible!

Am afraid to write anything specific at this time for fear he'll recognize my style of writing, & will make good on his retaliation & "kick me out of his practice," which he is currently threatening to do if I dont go along with his "new treatment plan." I strongly believe that we patients are the EMPLOYERS of our drs &, therefore, it is WE, THE PATIENTS, who have the right to dictate what can & will be done to our own bodies. He believes just the opposite. Due to the lack of resources in SLO County, his PM practice is now currently the ONLY ONE in SLO County .... & he knows this. If he kicks a patient out ... they literally have NO PLACE TO GO FOR PM & MEDICAL CARE. A very scary place to be. He knows this, too. // He also couldnt care less about any SERIOUS personal issues/problems a patient may be experiencing. He is concerned ONLY with his own agenda.

He is a great Dr I highly reccomed him for anyone looking for a answer to pain and he is great to look at
