Dr. Russell Brian Midkiff, MD

I was called back for a diagnostic mammogram because of calcifications. After the scan, I was waiting for Dr. Midkiff to look at the scan and he and the nurse came out and without saying anything but the nurse introducting me somberly to Dr. Midkiff, they ushered me into a private room. Due to COVID restrictions, I was without my husband. I started to cry and the nurse handed me a box of kleenex. Dr. Midkiff couldn't seem to get the words out and sat there rocking and stumbling over his words. Finally I was the one that asked if he was sure it was cancer and he said no and probably 20% chance. I perked up. I then asked if they were going to do a core biopsy and he said yes. In the end, I made sure Dr. Engel did the biopsy and it turned out to be benign. I guess I don't understand why i was address in this manner by Dr. Midkiff? I think a more appropriate way would be for him to come to me in the waiting area and say "I'm not sure at this point but let's go in this room and talk… further". It was just horrible.

If you want to be misdiagnosed & have your life shorten because of negligence then this is the doctor for you!! Beware of this man!! He should not even have a license!!

Went to Memorial breast care center for a biopsy of a lump. Had a nurse come out to tell me that it was a cyst and was cancelling the biopsy. He never spoke with me. 4 mos later find out it breast cancer.
